  • Publication number: 20080217958
Abstract: The rib support (32) is for being applied against an inside face of a bodywork skin (12) in the vicinity of at least one orifice (28) provided through said skin (12) for passing a rib (26) of a fitting (14) that is to be fitted onto a visible outside face of said skin (12), opposite from its inside face. Said support (32) comprises at least a rib (30) arranged to project from the inside face of the skin (12) in the vicinity of an orifice (28) in said skin (12), when the support (32) is applied against the inside face of the skin (12).

  • Patent number: 7165794
Abstract: The invention provides a motor vehicle bumper comprising: a shield presenting a first impact zone situated substantially at the same height as the knee of an adult pedestrian and, immediately below said first zone, a second impact zone situated substantially at the height as the tibia of an adult pedestrian; a beam placed behind the shield substantially at the same height as the knee of an adult pedestrian, in register with and at a certain distance from the shield; and interposed between the beam and the shield, at least one block made of a compressible material, the block having a front end disposed beside the shield and a rear end disposed beside the beam, and having a cross-section that increases from its front end towards its rear end. The front end of the block is disposed in register with the second impact zone of the shield.

  • Patent number: 6944949
Abstract: A Motor vehicle wheel arch has a body of thermoplastic material with an opening and a mat closing the opening and fixed to the body by strips of thermoplastic material. A method of making the arch includes injecting the strips onto the mat and allowing them to solidify in contact therewith. An edge is formed on a reduced thickness portion of the strip. In cross-section, the edge thickness relates to the edge width l by a mathematical function f such that: ? 0 ? ? f ? ( x ) ? ? ? ? x ? h 2 where h is the height of the edge at its junction with the strip.

  • Patent number: 6945593
Abstract: A front end part for the engine hood of a vehicle that can accommodate small deformations that result from impacts at low speed or other kinds of thrusts without there being any damage to the hood. The part being made of a deformable plastics material and including a strength member for fixing it to an engine hood so as to extend the hood towards the front of the vehicle. The vehicle front face can also include such an end part in addition to a hood and a bumper.

  • Publication number: 20040135362
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of making a motor vehicle wheel arch comprising both a body of thermoplastic material having with an opening, and a mat closing said opening and fixed to the body by strips of thermoplastic material secured to said body, the method comprising injecting the strips of thermoplastic material onto the mat and allowing them to solidify in contact therewith. On at least one strip of thermoplastic material, an edge is formed of thickness that is reduced relative to the thickness of the remainder of the strip.
