  • Publication number: 20040104306
Abstract: An aircraft cockpit window comprises a window pane (12) fitted with a frame (14), and guide rails (16, 18) on which the frame (14) is guided at three points (A, B, C) using two lower sets of rollers (20, 22) and an upper set of rollers (24). All these controls for locking/unlocking and opening the window pane are grouped on a handle (26) articulated on the lower edge of the frame (14), about an axis (28) that is preferably approximately vertical.

  • Patent number: 6698689
Abstract: The nose gear of an aircraft comprises a main group of at least one wheel (10) in permanent contact with the ground and a secondary group of at least one wheel (12), which is normally spaced from the ground, when the aircraft is on the ground. In the case of emergency braking due to an aborted takeoff or in the case of a blowout of a tire of a wheel (10) of the main group, the wheel or wheels (12) come into contact with the ground. This avoids an oversizing of the nose gear.

  • Patent number: 6346314
Abstract: The object of the invention is a device for locating a rupture represented by at least one break line (22, 24, 36, 38, 40) in a transparent panel (10) comprising at least two panes (12, 14; 26, 28, 30), particularly of the windshield of the cockpit of an aircraft, characterized in that it comprises an opaque or semi-opaque obstacle (20, 32, 34) disposed between two adjacent panes. The invention also covers a panel equipped with such a device.

  • Patent number: 6213428
Abstract: An aircraft fore-structure for wide- and very-wide body freight aircraft that is characterized by the presence of a unpressurized landing gear compartment in the lower fore end section. The landing gear compartment is formed by a ceiling at the top, that is preferably domed, and by a partition towards the rear. A door that is provided in the partition provides access through the landing gear compartment to the pressurized compartment located behind said partition. An opening in the fore of the landing gear compartment also provides access to the radar chamber without requiring the radome to be dismantled. The original layout of the landing gear compartment enables fore landing gear to be installed that is larger than that in existing aircraft.

  • Patent number: 5769361
Abstract: To enable intervention personnel to directly enter from the outside the flight deck or cockpit of an aircraft, e.g. in the case of an accident, it is proposed that a window (14) opening from the inside of the cockpit be transformed into an emergency exit accessible from the outside of the aircraft. For this purpose, addition takes place to the existing mechnisms of a handle (50) placed in a recess (52) opening to the outside, as well as manipulating mechanisms. These mechanisms consist of a first linkage acting on the bolts of the window (14) and a second linkage (72) acting by a roller (106) on a cam surface (108) formed on a lever (32) of the window displacement control mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5735485
Abstract: An airbrake located on the wing of an aircraft between a rear spar and a wing flap comprises two panels aligned with the upper surface of the wing when the airbrake is closed. In the open state or fully deployed position, the two panels are contiguous and behave as a single panel. However, in the intermediate states, the panel closest to the flap is deflected more than the other panel, so that a slot is formed between them. This slot makes it possible to significantly decrease turbulence on either side of the airbrake when the latter is used in low deflection flight.

  • Patent number: 5474265
Abstract: The leading edge (12) of an aircraft wing is equipped with a kruger nose which includes a rigid flap (18) and a mechanism (26,28,30,40) ensuring the deployment of the flap in an intermediate landing position (P3) and in a take-off position (P2). The disposition of this mechanism is such that, in the landing position (P3), a slot exists between the flap (18) and the leading edge, whereas this slot disappears in the take-off position (P2). The mechanism preferably includes two connection rods (28,30) connecting a control reversing lever (26) and an intermediate reversing lever (40).
