Abstract: Broadcast energy and spectrum consumption optimization may be provided. It may be determined, by a computing device for each of a plurality of client devices, a corresponding plurality of respective minimum Modulation and Coding Schemes (MCSs) needed to reach each of the respective plurality of client devices from the computing device at a predetermined power level. Next, an optimal MCS from the plurality of respective minimum MCSs may be used to reach a first group of the plurality of client devices via broadcast. Then unicast may be used to reach a second group of the plurality of client devices wherein the optimal MCS is selected to minimize the total amount of airtime used for the broadcast and the unicast.

Abstract: Leveraging wireless direct transmissions may be provided. It may be determined that data traffic flowing on a first pathway between a first client device and a second client device is not meeting a predetermined service level. The first pathway may be partially wired and partially wireless. A second pathway that will meet the predetermined service level may be determined. The second pathway may be wireless. The data traffic may be caused to flow on the second pathway.

Abstract: Multimodal wireless and deterministic mode operation may be provided. An indication may be provided to a client device by an Access Point (AP) that the AP supports multimode operation and which current sub-mode is enabled. Then a determination may be received from the client device to perform an operation based on the indication that the AP supports multimode operation and which sub-mode is currently enabled wherein the operation comprises one of prefer the AP and avoid the AP.

Abstract: Broadcast operations by a selected subset of Access Points (APs) may be provided. A first plurality of APs to perform broadcast may be selected from a plurality of APs. Next, a plurality of client devices may be moved from a second plurality of APs to the first plurality of APs during a broadcast period. Then, the plurality of client devices may be moved to the second plurality of APs from the first plurality of APs after the broadcast period.

Abstract: Providing for time sensitive networking (TSN) traffic in high density deployments is described. An access point (AP) is a high density deployment receives a message identifying another AP as a TSN neighbor and also detects a TSN device within an area covered by the APs. This arrangement may cause traffic interruptions for the TSN traffic between the TSN device and the APs. In order to prevent disruption in TSN traffic, a TSN time slot and a resource unit (RU) is determined for each of the APs, and the TSN traffic is communicated between the various devices in network according to the determined TSN time slot and RU.

Abstract: Balancing Multi-link Operation (MLO) usage may be provided. A list of a plurality of Access Points (APs) for each of a plurality of Multi-link Operation (MLO) types indicating availability of each of the plurality of APs may be received. A first request indicating an MLO type associated with the first request is a first MLO type may be received. In response to the first request, a first subset of the list of the plurality of APs that support the MLO type associated with the first request may be sent. A second request indicating that an MLO type associated with the second request is the first MLO type may be received. In response to the second request, a second subset of the list of the plurality of APs that support the MLO type associated with the second request may be sent. The first subset is different from the second subset.

Abstract: A managed network supporting backscattering communication devices may be provided. A computing device may determine a plurality of locations respectively associated with a plurality of devices in a preterminal space. At least one of the plurality of devices may be power with energy transmitted from at least one Access Point (AP) to the least one of the plurality of devices at its location. Data may be received from the at least one of the plurality of devices in response to powering the at least one of the plurality of devices.

Abstract: Optimal coding scheme parameters may be provided. Information associated with a plurality of client devices may be received by a computing device. A map of locations of the plurality of client devices relative to an Access Point (AP) may be created based on the information. A connected dominating set of client devices within the plurality of client devices may be identified based on the map. A first client device in the connected dominating set may then be caused to relay data between the AP and a second client device comprising a client device in the plurality of client devices that is dominated by the first client device in the connected dominating set.

Abstract: System and method for displaying reaction animations that represent audience reactions to content. A reaction measurement module receives video data featuring at least one audience user from at least one video capture device. The reaction measurement module processes the video data to determine reaction data based on characteristics of the audience user's head. The reaction data is passed to a server and an animation-generation module generates animation data based on the reaction data. The animation data is passed to a user device for display. In some embodiments, the reaction animation(s) are displayed with the content in real or near real time. In other embodiments, the reaction animations are recorded for later viewing. In some embodiments, the animation(s) each represent multiple audience users.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention enable targeted mobile payload (such as advertisement) delivery to mobile users, optimized for user experience, wireless access network characteristics and performance and advertising/marketing impact. Embodiments leverage subscriber situational insights, provided either by the wireless network or external providers, to associate with a request for advertisement (taking place while end user accesses content) a segment description and/or attributes that describe the end user. Accordingly, the advertisement industry standard (or advertiser, content-provider defined) audience to which the end user belongs can be determined in real-time, and a targeted advertisement can be delivered to the mobile end user. As such, content publisher inventory (i.e., advertisement space) can be purchased by advertisers based on audience.

Abstract: Systems and method for policy-based service management are provided. An exemplary system includes a rule definition interface module configured to receive a plurality of rule definitions and a separate policy management interface module configured to allow a user to define a rule instance from an existing rule definition instance and to define a policy instance based on the defined rule instance. A policy may be simply expressed via the policy management interface as “perform the following set of action if all of the following rule instances are true unless any of the following rule instances are true.” Additionally, policies may be associated with a context at a specific a level in a context hierarchy having multiple levels. The policy may therefore inherit rules from contexts at a higher level in the hierarchy.

Abstract: Systems and methods for context-aware service subscription management are provided. In an embodiment a context-aware service subscription management system includes a policy decision module that makes a decision whether the requested service will be provided based on policy rules, subscription profiles and the context of the request for the service. The use of context to make the policy decision allows for services offerings to be adjusted dynamically to the context of a particular user's service request. The subscription management system further includes a policy rules module, subscription profile interface and a context analysis module. The policy rules module provides policy rules. The context analysis module determines the context of a service request. Based on context information, the policy decision module in effect temporarily overrides a subscription profile based on the context of a service access by the user.

Abstract: A method is disclosed of updating the software of a GSM or equivalent mobile telephone terminal via a base transceiver station in whose coverage area the terminal is located and using data supplied by a programming platform operating at the level of a server center to which the base transceiver station is connected in a fixed telecommunication network. The terminal is updated by a transparent exchange of SMS or equivalent mobile telephone messages at the initiative of the programming platform and in cooperation with the server center.
