Abstract: An apparatus and method for implementing successive treatments on samples, such as samples of fibers, in particular hair. The method is performed by applying at least one liquid followed by drying the samples. The apparatus includes a plurality of beakers each adapted to receive a sample and into which at least one treatment liquid is fed via a feeding device. The apparatus further includes a flow device for establishing a flow of drying gas in each beaker.

Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for simultaneously dispensing a plurality of measured quantities of a liquid, the apparatus comprising:a slide-valve body, a succession of liquid accumulation chambers, respective expulsion gas feed channels associated with said chambers, a selector member movable in said housing between a filling position and a dispensing position, and sealing structure placed in said housing between the slide-valve body and the selector member. When the selector member is in the filling position, liquid flows through the various chambers in succession, and when the selector member is in the dispensing position, the liquid contained within each chamber can flow out under the action of said expulsion gas.

Abstract: Compositions comprising, in an aqueous vehicle, an abrasive system containing an alkali metal bicarbonate and a surfactant system, where the surfactant system comprises a non-ionic poly(hydroxypropyl ether) surfactant. Such compositions are particularly useful as oral hygiene compositions.These compositions may be used as, or for the manufacture of, a dentifrice in the form of a paste, a gel, a liquid or a chewing gum.

Abstract: New compositions comprising an abrasive system comprising an alkali metal bicarbonate and a surfactant system comprising a non-ionic poly(hydroxypropyl ether) surfactant, which are characterized in that the said surfactant system further comprises an alkali metal, alkaline-earth metal or ammonium lauryl sulphate, particularly a sodium lauryl sulphate or a magnesium lauryl sulphate. Such compositions are in particular oral hygiene compositions.The invention also relates to the use of these compositions as, or for the manufacture of, a dentifrice in the form of a paste, a gel, a liquid or a chewing gum.

Abstract: Topically applicable photostable sunscreen/cosmetic compositions well suited for the stable photoprotection of human skin and/or hair against the damaging effects of UV-irradiation, particularly solar radiation, comprise a photoprotecting effective amount of at least one dibenzoylmethane compound and an effective amount of at least one amido compound photostabilizer therefor, in a cosmetically acceptable vehicle, diluent or carrier.
