  • Patent number: 9906002
Abstract: The invention provides a RC module (20) for a RC voltage divider for an electrical substation insulated by a dielectric fluid. The RC module (20) comprises first and second plane conductive supports (210a,b) separated from each other in order to co-operate with the dielectric fluid to form a capacitor, when the module equips an electrical substation. The module further comprises at least one resistive element (220a,b) electrically connecting together the first and the second conductive supports (210a,b), the resistive element comprising a printed circuit (222) defining a resistive electric circuit including a plurality of resistive 2-terminal components mounted in series. The invention also provides a resistive element and a voltage divider.

  • Patent number: 9702922
Abstract: A method and a device for locating internal arcing that occurs in a compartment (CPi) of a gas-insulated line (L), each compartment being provided with at least one pressure sensor (Pi). The method comprises: triggering pressure measurements in a compartment as soon as the difference between the currents that flow through two current toroids (TCi) around two adjacent compartments exceeds a threshold value indicating the occurrence of internal arcing in the compartment; calculating a period ?t that separates the time at which the pressure detector began to detect a pressure variation and the time at which the internal arcing occurred; and calculating a distance d that separates the place at which the internal arc is formed from the position of the pressure sensor using the equation d=V/?t in which V is the speed of sound in the gas.

  • Patent number: 8878521
Abstract: A current sensor for measuring current through a conductor with the current sensor including a cable looped around the conductor to be monitored, and a transformer winding disposed in the cable for measuring current flow based on the Rogowski principle. The cable has opposite end portions coupled in an abutting relationship to form an endless loop with the winding flush with opposite end faces of the opposite and portions of the cable. The current sensor also has a coupling in the form of a sleeve including an assembly for attaching and detaching the opposite end positions of the cable having a stop ring which grips one of the end portions and a push button which is selectively movable against the stop ring for releasing the grip to open the opposite end portions. The cable may have a temperature sensor and a memory in which the measurement characteristics of the sensor are held. The sensor is reliable and accurate, and it can be left permanently in an electrical apparatus, or replaced, with no difficulty.

  • Publication number: 20120182708
Abstract: A characteristic enclosure, configured to surround a linear conductor, includes at least one internal cavity for receiving at least one fiber optic sensor or current transformer sensor wound about the enclosure and giving a measurement of current. The cavity is closed except at openings of small size in the outer wall through which the sensors are inserted, or are removed to replace them, and through which they are connected to a measuring apparatus. The enclosure includes grooves arranged on its surface or in separate tubes for guiding and maintaining loops of the sensors. Advantageously, one of the walls of the enclosure extends the walls of the adjacent enclosures for a regular flow of current induced along the enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20120019233
Abstract: The sensor comprises a cable (5) looped around an element to be monitored, and includes a winding (10) on the Rogowski principle. It is original in that it is open at its ends (6, 7), that is to say the winding (10) is flush with the end faces (25) of the cable (5), and perfect continuity of the winding and of measurement over a circumference is established by abutting the two ends together. This cable may have a temperature sensor and a memory in which the measurement characteristics of the sensor are held. The sensor is reliable and accurate, and it can be left permanently in an electrical apparatus, or replaced, with no difficulty.
