  • Patent number: 6132745
Abstract: The subject of the invention is new cosmetic compositions, based on pigment nanoparticles and on fillers, which are completely transparent and free from whitening when they are applied on the skin, which possess sufficient UV screening properties for the addition of organic screening agents to be unnecessary, which are better dispersed than the compositions of the prior art and which are outstandingly stable. These compositions, when they are used in makeup, exhibit greater homogeneity of the color and a coloring which is both transparent and more intense. The present invention also relates to methods of imparting these improved properties to makeup compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 30, 1999
Date of Patent: October 17, 2000
    Assignee: L'Oreal
Inventors: Patricia Marchi-Lemann, Annick Collette, Myriam Mellul

  • Patent number: 5693329
Abstract: Cosmetic composition, characterized in that it contains titanium dioxide nanopigments coated with at least aluminium derivatives in a cosmetically acceptable, fairly nonpolar medium having a conductivity of less than 100 .mu.Siemens and containing at least one fatty phase.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 13, 1995
Date of Patent: December 2, 1997
    Assignee: L'Oreal
    Inventors: Patricia Marchi-Lemann, Christian Colin
  • Patent number: 5643672
Abstract: Cosmetic composition for the skin or skin appendages comprising a dispersion of solid particles in a binder and characterized in that at least a part of said particles is introduced into the composition in the form of particles having their surface coated with at least one amphoteric polymer. The coated particles are easily dispersible, even in fatty binders, and the cosmetic compositions have good stability properties and show good adhesion to the skin and skin appendages.
