  • Publication number: 20240149359
Abstract: A blade change mechanism configured to attach a blade to a transmission rod of a power tool, the blade change mechanism including a support body, a blade retention structure, and a component. The blade retention structure is coupled to the support body and includes a blade retention component movable to hold the blade in a locked state in response to engagement of the blade with the blade change mechanism on insertion of the blade. The component is movable to vary the blade retention component to hold the blade in the locked state. The component is further movable to vary the blade retention component to an unlocked state in which the blade retention structure is disengaged from the blade. • Publication number: 20240055657
Abstract: Amphiphilic complexing agents for use in electrolyte solutions are provided. The complexing agents include at least one soft ionic group covalently bonded to at least one hard ionic group or polyether chain. The soft ionic group couples with soft, oppositely charged ionic redox species in an electrolyte solution, and the hard ionic groups or polyethylene chains render the complexes formed by the complexing agents and ionic redox species soluble in the electrolyte solution. The size of the complex formed by the coupling of the amphiphilic complexing agent to the soft ionic redox species is substantially larger than the size of the soft ionic redox species alone and, as a result, electrochemical cells that include the amphiphilic complexing agents in an electrolyte solution have less membrane crossover than analogous electrochemical cells that do not include the amphiphilic complexing agents.

  • Publication number: 20230400823
Abstract: A facility providing systems and methods for managing and optimizing energy consumption and/or production is provided. The facility provides techniques for optimizing energy-consuming and energy-producing systems to meet specified demands or goals in accordance with various constraints. The facility relies on models to generate an optimization for an energy system. In order to use generic models to simulate and optimize energy consumption for an energy system, the generic models are calibrated to properly represent or approximate conditions of the energy system during the optimization period. After the appropriate models have been calibrated for a given situation using one or more modeling parameter sets, the facility can simulate inputs and responses for the corresponding system. The facility uses the generated simulations to generate a plan or control schedule to be implemented by the energy system during the optimization period.

  • Patent number: 11815692
Abstract: A light-blocker apparatus may include a support element dimensioned to fit a contour of an eyecup of a head-mounted display. Additionally, the light-blocker apparatus may include an attachment feature, defined at a base of the support element, that connects the support element to the eyecup such that, when the support element is attached to the eyecup, the support element moves in conjunction with the eyecup. The light-blocker apparatus may also include an interface extending from the support element and may be dimensioned to interface with an eye area of a user's face to reduce light entering the eyecup from outside of the head-mounted display when worn by a user. Various other apparatuses, systems, and methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11774009
Abstract: A multidirectional runner assembly for positioning a carrier pipe within a surrounding casing pipe. Each multidirectional runner assembly has at least one ball transfer assembly at least partially protruding from the runner assembly, in order to contact an inner surface of a surrounding casing pipe. The ball transfer assemblies reduce static and/or kinetic friction forces during installation of a carrier pipe within the central bore of a casing pipe, permit multidirectional orientation of the runners within the casing pipe, and provide greater load support.
