  • Patent number: 4887589
Abstract: A solar energy transfer spoiler assembly, comprises of a base for supporting the remaining elements of the assembly, an azimuth and elevation drive mechanism, a moving structure frame, a plurality of energy collecting elements, a first spoiler and a second spoiler. The first end of the base is fixedly secured to the ground, and the second end is attached to the azimuth and elevation drive mechanism. The drive mechanism is comprised of an azimuth drive motor and gearing, and the elevation drive motor and gearing. The moving structure is rotatably attached to the azimuth and elevation gears for free gimboling movement by the drive mechanism. The moving structure is a rectangular shaped frame having disposed thereon a plurality of energy collecting elements. Attached to the leading edge of the moving structure frame is the first spoiler or pair of spoilers if the frame is of the split unit design.

  • Patent number: 4306387
Abstract: A system for selectively interposing particulate insulating material in a cavity of a transmission or window panel assembly employs an upper aperture into the cavity through which the insulating material enters and is removed. A flow diverting means adjacent the aperture diverts positive pressure air flowing toward the cavity into the ambient atmosphere, and the momentum of the insulating material causes it to continue through the aperture and fill the cavity. Suction pressure air flow out of the aperture removes the insulating particles, and ambient pressure air flows into the lower portion of the cavity through vents to lift the insulating material upward out of the cavity. The flow diverting means confines the suction air flow out of the cavity to the conduit or communicating means connected to the aperture.

  • Patent number: 4243970
Abstract: A timing circuit for sounding an alarm for left-on main power switches, particularly in aircraft, includes a detector circuit for a secondary circuit of a complete circuit, a clock circuit controlled by the main power switch and an audioalarm circuit activated by the clock circuit when the main power switch is left on for a predetermined time following shut off of the secondary circuit.
