  • Publication number: 20220371695
Abstract: A modular floating platform system includes a detachable floating buoy providing a body tethered to a seafloor with a plurality of mooring lines and coupled to a subsea production system via one or more communication lines, and a plurality of floating surface facilities, each floating surface facility providing a standardized bottom interface matable with the detachable floating buoy. A latching mechanism individually couples each floating surface facility to the detachable floating buoy when each floating surface facility is individually mated to the detachable floating buoy. One or more communication couplings place each floating surface facility in communication with the subsea production system via the one or more communication lines when each floating surface facility is individually mated to the detachable floating buoy.

  • Patent number: 10894581
Abstract: The present techniques are directed to systems and a method for reducing trenching around piles. An exemplary method includes attaching a mooring line to one end of a padeye extender bar that is coupled by another end to a padeye on the pile. The pile is installed in a sediment layer. The padeye extender bar is deployed to hold an attachment point for the mooring line above the sedimenlt layer.

Date of Patent: January 19, 2021
    Assignee: ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company
Inventors: Patrick C. Wong, Haydar Arslan, Roald T. Lokken
  • Patent number: 10844565
Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing scouring around piles are described. The system includes a pile and an enclosure. The pile has a maximum cross-sectional dimension, Dp. The enclosure is circumferentially disposed around the pile, the enclosure having a first end proximate a surface of a seabed; a second end distal the surface of the seabed; and a maximum cross-sectional dimension, De, wherein De is at least 1.25*Dp.
