  • Publication number: 20120246305
Abstract: A system and method for managing COTS devices based on device auto-detection and identification is provided. A network device on a managed network is identified, wherein the network device is identified as a one of a list of one or more network device types supported by the managed network and included in one or more configuration files, and wherein the one or more configuration files further include a list of one or more respective SNMP variables to be monitored for each of the network device types. The respective listing of SNMP variables to be monitored and/or configured is extracted from the one or more configuration files for the identified network device type. A request is then generated to monitor and/or configure the extracted SNMP variables to be monitored for the network device.

  • Publication number: 20120122208
Abstract: A bioreactor system includes a growth chamber having an inlet, an outlet, and defining a cavity, a media reservoir is in fluid communication with the inlet, and a pump configured to perfuse a media from the reservoir into the inlet and through the growth chamber. A plurality of discrete scaffold members is packed within the growth cavity. Spaces between adjacent scaffold members define pores. The media is movable around the scaffold members and through the pores via the pump.

  • Patent number: 8050203
Abstract: In a multi-channel digital wireless audio system with at least one transmit node and at least one receive node, each node can both receive and transmit digital audio signals. Signals sent from a receive node to a transmit node may acknowledge satisfactory signal receipt, or may requesting retransmission of data packets received in a corrupted state. Original and retransmitted signals may be sent in compressed form to enable use of narrow-band digital radios. The system preferably incorporates a dual control channel to enable transmission of meta data. Each system node preferably incorporates a hardware-multithreaded processor adapted to implement various functions such as baseband functions, RF protocol functions, error correction functions, and audio processing functions, with each independent thread being adapted to implement a different functional block.

  • Publication number: 20090323599
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of controlling resources in a mobile communication system. In one embodiment of the present invention, a UE obtains information necessary for receiving a first service from a network node. The UE calculates resources needed for receiving the first service and a second service simultaneously based on the obtained information and transmits information associated with the calculated resources. The network node performs a scheduling of data transmission for transmitting the first and second service based on the resource information from the UE, so that the UE receives the first and second service without error.

  • Patent number: 7353279
Abstract: An approach is provided for providing quality of service reservations in a packet-based radio communication network is disclosed. Connection information including connection rate is extracted from a dataflow from an application requesting connection-oriented service. A request message is sent to a proxy for establishing a connection based on the connection information over the network, wherein the proxy configures a classification rule based on flow criteria from the request message and accordingly initiates establishment of the connection over the network to a destination terminal. A confirmation that the connection can be established is selectively received according to the connection information, wherein the dataflow satisfying the flow criteria from the application is transported over the established connection to the destination terminal. This approach as particular applicability to shared capacity systems, such as a satellite communication system.

  • Publication number: 20070056755
Abstract: A method and apparatus for use with an agricultural implement assembly that includes a support frame, a wing frame and a cylinder assembly that includes a cylinder and a rod, each of the support frame, wing frame, cylinder and rod being an assembly component, the rod moving relative to the cylinder between an unlatched position and a latched position as the support and wing frames move from an operating position toward a transport position, the apparatus comprising a first coupler supported by one of the assembly components and moving along a pathway as the wing frame moves from the operating position toward the transport position, a second coupler supported at least in part within the pathway by at least another of the assembly components, the second coupler operable to couple with the first coupler when the rod is in the latched position and a latch inhibiting member that is manually moveable between a latch inhibiting position and a latch enabling position, when in the inhibiting position, the inhibiting m

  • Publication number: 20070056552
Abstract: Disclosed are crankshaft, single-plate cam and beam mechanisms that provide significant improvements in performance for 2 & 4-stroke engines, compressors and pumps. These cost effective mechanisms include linkages with the new and improved use of pivoting arms that operate with a variety of cylinder arrangements. One embodiment of the crankshaft mechanism has its crankpin roller positioned within a novel yoke-arm. The cam mechanism uses a pair of centrally positioned parallel links that are connected to roller cam followers and single or diametrically-opposed pistons. A pair of laterally extending follower arms connects to the ends of the links to provide support and alignment for the piston rods. Between the reciprocating links, cam followers and follower arms is a rotating odd-lobe plate cam. A beam mechanism uses opposite-direction extending balancing beams that are connected to links, cam followers and piston rods.

  • Patent number: 4883083
Abstract: A filter head assembly includes a relief valve assembly therein, and is adapted for use in a spin-on filter or the like. When the relief valve assembly is in a closed mode of operation, fluid flow through the filter head, and an associated filter, results in conventional filtration. When the relief valve assembly is in open mode of operation, the filter is substantially bypassed permitting fluid to flow directly through the filter head, with filtration. The relief valve assembly includes a movable piston member therein, which opens and closes for the respective flow passage outwardly from a lateral takeoff port. Any substantial, undesirable, lateral forces acting upon a piston member may be substantially reduced by means of a lateral pressure release system provided according to the present invention. Generally, the lateral pressure-relief system comprises an annular recess formed in the piston member.

  • Patent number: 4615800
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a duplex filter apparatus which provides for a first primary filter path and a second path for secondary filtration. The first path includes a shutoff valve on one side of the primary filter and a check valve on the downstream side. The second path includes a regulating bypass valve on the upstream side of the secondary filter and a check valve on the downstream side. The regulating bypass valve gradually shifts fluid flow from the first path to the second path when differential pressure across the primary filter increases beyond a predetermined level. A reservoir return bypass valve directs fluid flow gradually from the secondary filter when differential pressure across the secondary filter increases beyond a predetermined level. Bleed valves are provided to relieve pressure on filter elements when the filter elements are isolated so that servicing may occur.
