  • Publication number: 20120247869
Abstract: A safety ladder that protects a climber from a fall is disclosed. The device provides a ladder having a plurality of rails and rungs, one of the rails being an elongated channel having multiple flanges surrounding a passageway, a pair of the flanges defining there between a gap. A locking member is configured to travel upwardly in the passageway, the locking member having a beam, a cam section at one end portion of the beam and an eyelet that is positioned outside of the passageway. A cable connects a climber to the connector section. The cam section is specially configured and forms an anchor with the channel in a locking position when a climber pulls down on the cable and locking member. The rail or rails flanges form an acute angle with the rungs.

  • Publication number: 20110226554
Abstract: The present invention provides an adjustable ladder and scaffolding system wherein a scaffolding structure provides a support to which is attached a frame. The frame includes a pair of ladder clamps that enable the frame to be connected to the spaced apart risers of a ladder that is to be supported. The frame includes left and right plates and a base opposite the ladder clamps. Adjustable connections are provided between the left and right plates and the base so that the distance between the base and the clamps can be varied, thus enabling the ladder to assume a diagonally extending orientation relative to horizontal. The frame is adjustable so that each frame attached to the ladder shortens the distance between the ladder and the scaffolding structure as the elevation is increased.
