Publication number: 20230293967Abstract: An injection-molded ski includes a ski body and two ski edges attached to opposite edge surfaces of the ski body. The ski body is formed from a uniform material and has top, bottom, and edge surfaces and a binding mounting platform. The binding mounting platform is formed on the top surface and receives a boot binding. The ski edges comprise an edge portion and securing features. In one embodiment, a ski is injection-molded using a molding material, such as glass-reinforced nylon or a combination of one or more suitable materials. A novel mold facilitates injection of molding material around and/or between the securing features thereby locking the edges in place when the molding material cools. Compared to conventional skis, the novel injection-molded ski has improved durability, flexibility, strength, and performance characteristics, reduced manufacturing complexity that avoids typical layup processes, and reduced susceptibility to failure due to moisture or wear.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2023Publication date: September 21, 2023Inventors: John Fitzgerald Newcomb, Miles Patrick Lim

Patent number: 11443361Abstract: Described are systems, methods and arrangements for enabling fulfillment of items from printed materials. When printed material is generated it includes an embedded ordering device (“EOD”) that can be activated by a user that is viewing the printed material. Upon activation, the EOD connects to a wireless network and sends a unique identifier data to a fulfillment service. The fulfillment service, upon receiving the unique identifier data determines an item associated with the unique identifier data and a delivery destination (e.g., the address to which the printed material was delivered) and fulfills the item to the delivery destination.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2019Date of Patent: September 13, 2022Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Jonathan Patrick Lim, Stephen Pate Smith, Benjamin Thomas Logsdon

Patent number: 11187358Abstract: A sealing system for establishing real time sealing between two flange members is provided. The sealing system includes a seal assembly disposed between the flange members. The seal assembly includes an o-ring seal component held between an outer seal component and an inner seal component. A clamp body including a first clamp arm and a second clamp arm receive the flange members and the seal assembly positioned between the flange members. A coupling device of the sealing system is used to apply torque to clamp arms to draw them each other resulting biasing the flange member toward each other to establish sealing. Each of the clamp arms includes at least one window opening to expose a portion of outer seal component that includes an indicator configured for displaying an identification feature of the o-ring seal component of the sealing assembly.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2019Date of Patent: November 30, 2021Assignee: APPLIED SEALS NORTH AMERICA, INC.Inventors: Patrick Lim, Shuai Zhao, Ray Wu, Dalia Vernikovsky, Malcolm Rollason

Patent number: 10496832Abstract: Systems and methods for providing trust provisioning are disclosed. A utilization request requesting to utilize data stored by a secure element associated with the device may be processed by a software application. In response to processing the utilization request, a registration request message for registering the software application may be communicated to a management server. A validation code may be received from the management server in reply to the registration request message. The received validation code may be verified to match a second validation code. Subsequent to successful verification, a passcode and an identifier of the secure element may be communicated to the management server. In response to communicating the passcode and the secure element identifier, an acknowledgement may be received from the management server specifying whether registration of the software application was successful.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2017Date of Patent: December 3, 2019Assignee: GFA Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: David Brudnicki, Kaushik Roy, Patrick Lim
