Abstract: The invention broadly relates to a garment support assembly which is adapted to be fitted or arranged for fitment to the rear face (2) of an upright support of a backrest (1) of a seat or chair. The upright support comprises a rear face (2) and a forward face against which a user's back can rest when seated. The assembly is characterised in that it comprises a support means (3) movable between a first stowed and/or non-usable position within or in close proximity to the rear face of the backrest and a second usable position projecting from the backrest. The assembly is adapted when in use to support a garment, preferably a jacket sports coat or similar.
