  • Publication number: 20160309878
Abstract: A nail pick for cleaning a nailbed comprises an elongated body that includes a handle at a proximal end and having a width as well as a cutting head at a distal end. The cutting head's width is less than the width of the handle. The cutting head includes a superior surface; an interior surface, opposite the superior surface, and first and second lateral side surfaces extending from the handle to the distal end. The first and second lateral side surfaces are concave-shaped and disposed between the superior surface and the interior surface. A first junction of the superior surface with the first lateral side surface defines a first cutting edge and a second junction of the superior surface with the second lateral side surface defines a second cutting edge.

  • Publication number: 20150374580
Abstract: A hand-washing apparatus configured to simultaneously wash hands includes an enclosure with openings for each hand, and members for finger support and thumb support. The finger support member extends upward from the enclosure's base and the thumb support member extends along a direction different from the finger support member. The finger support has a surface for receiving and orienting fingers of both hands at corresponding locations inside the enclosure. Similarly, the thumb support has a surface for receiving and orienting both thumbs. The finger-support surface has two recess sets, each of which receives fingers of one hand. First and second spray-nozzles are directed to irrigate the fingers and thumbs respectively.

  • Publication number: 20150000030
Abstract: A hand washing apparatus configured to simultaneously wash both a left hand and a right hand includes an enclosure having an exterior surface and an interior space. The exterior surface having a front face and first and second side faces located on opposites sides of the front face. The enclosure includes a first opening in the first side face of the exterior surface for receiving a left hand for insertion into the interior space and a second opening in the second side face of the exterior surface for receiving a right hand for insertion into the interior space. There is a first digit support member located within the interior space having a surface for receiving and orienting a first subset of digits of the first and second hands in a predetermined position within the interior space and a second digit support member located within the interior space having a surface for receiving and orienting a second subset of digits of the first and second hands in a predetermined position within the interior space.

  • Patent number: 8337633
Abstract: A hand-washing system for washing fingernail beds and cuticular regions of human fingers and thumbs (collectively “digits”). The hand-washing system includes a work enclosure for containing ones of the digits and a high-velocity, high-flow water spray during a washing operation. The work enclosure defines an interior space, part of which defines an energy-dissipation region that, during use, provides a water reservoir for dissipating energy in the high-velocity, high flow water spray. The work enclosure includes a high-energy spray nozzle and a digit portal sized to receive the four fingers of one hand simultaneously in closed-fingered, upwardly-curled configuration. A mixing valve may be provided to allow a user to adjust the temperature of the water during washing. A quick-disconnect fluid-coupling assembly may also be provided and be used to quickly select between work enclosures of differing size.
