    Abstract: A fuel dispensing system has a placard disposed on the device to be fueled. The placard indicates the type of fuel used in the device. An appropriate code reader reads the placard and generates a signal indicative of the fuel type. A fuel dispensing handle is selectively coupled to one of a plurality of fuel storage tanks to dispense the proper fuel. A contamination detection device causes a valve in the fuel dispensing handle to be placed in the closed position when the fuel is contaminated or otherwise not proper for dispensing.
