  • Publication number: 20220198597
Abstract: A recording device may record information continuously. Particular events which occur during recording may be of interest for review (e.g., audit, inspection). Events may be audited to ensure that the data gathered is not tampered with or corrupted and to provably establish an evidence chain of custody. Metadata may mark recorded data of an event, in whole or in part, for later review. Metadata may be identified as an audit tag which may identify particular occurrences during an event. An audit tag may be urgent or non-urgent. Notice of an urgent audit tag may be sent to a server prior to sending the recorded data associated with the audit tag. Recorded data may be cryptographically signed to protect the recorded data from tampering.

  • Patent number: 11237918
Abstract: A computer system receives event data associated with data records in a database, receives metadata corresponding to a digital media content file (e.g., a video, audio, or image file), compares the event data with the metadata, automatically identifies a matching event based on the comparison, and automatically tags the content file by modifying the metadata based on event data associated with the matching event. In one usage scenario, the digital media content file may be used as evidence in a criminal investigation. The event data may be provided in the form of a summary or snapshot of the database, which may include data records covering a limited period of time. The digital media content file can be recorded by any suitable digital media device, such as a video camera. The computer system may further include a dock configured to upload digital media content received from the digital media device.

  • Publication number: 20210390302
Abstract: Computer-implemented methods and systems for processing recorded data for storage is provided. An auditable device, such as a digital video camera, stores a set of recorded data. The auditable device also stores auditable event entries that represent auditable events detected by the auditable device. One type of auditable event is the receipt of information from a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system that indicates an event. The auditable device marks at least one subset of the set of recorded data based on the auditable event entries, and uploads the marked at least one subset of the set of recorded data to an evidence management system.

  • Publication number: 20210149972
Abstract: System and methods for aligning event data recorded by recording devices. Recording devices create, transmit, and store alignment data. Alignment data created by a recording device is stored in the memory of the recording device with a time that is maintained by the recording device and that is relative to the time of event data recorded by the recording device that creates the alignment data. Recording devices further receive and store transmitted alignment data. Alignment data received by a recording device is stored in the memory of the recording device with a time that is maintained by the receiving recording device and that is relative to the time of event data recorded by the recording device that creates alignment data. Stored alignment data may be used to align the playback of event data of devices that have the same alignment data.

  • Publication number: 20210071999
Abstract: An actuatable bay conducted electrical weapon comprises a plurality of bays. Each of the bays is configured to releasably receive a deployment unit comprising one or more electrodes. At least one of the bays the plurality of bays is coupled to a body of the conducted electrical weapon via a respective movable member. Each respective movable member is coupled to the body of the conducted electrical weapon by a respective kinematic joint. Responsive to an activation of a control interface, each respective movable member is configured to move about each respective kinematic joint to an expanded position, wherein a distance between each of the bays of the plurality of bays is greater in the expanded position than in a collapsed position. The increased distance is configured to provide a greater initial spread between the one or more electrodes to increase a likelihood of causing NMI in a target.

  • Publication number: 20210006772
Abstract: A system for determining a person's field of view with respect to captured data (e.g., recorded audiovisual data). A multi-camera capture system (e.g. bodycam, vehicular camera, stereoscopic, 360-degree captures system) records audiovisual data of an event. The field of capture of a capture system or a field of capture of captured data combined from multiple capture systems may be greater than the field of view of a person. Facial features (e.g. eyes, ears, nose, and jawlines) of the person may be detected from the captured data. Facial features may be used to determine the field of view of the person with respect to the captured data. Sensors that detect head orientation may be used to determine the field of view of the person with respect to captured data. The field of view of the person may be shown with respect to the captured data when the captured data is played back.

  • Publication number: 20200400416
Abstract: A conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) deploys wire-tethered electrodes after generation of an ignition signal. The ignition signal is provided to a deployment unit. The deployment unit includes a primer material adjacent a conductor. The conductor conducts the ignition signal outside the primer material. A temperature of the conductor increases in response to receiving the ignition signal. The primer material ignites in response to the increase in temperature of the conductor.
