  • Patent number: 11764726
Abstract: A device for simultaneous provision of shade and generation of solar power, suitable for deployment as a sailboat bimini or awning and a process for providing shade and generating solar power. The device includes multiple flexible solar panels, connected electrically, and bonded to rigid lightweight panels which are hinged together with restraints that prevent panel flexing or bending and thereby avoid propagation of microcracks in the solar cells, increasing longevity.

  • Publication number: 20180039951
Abstract: Implementations relate to computer-assisted agendas for videoconferences. In some implementations, a computer-implemented method includes receiving, at a device, scheduling input associated with a videoconference, where the scheduling input includes a time for the videoconference and one or more identifiers of one or more participants for the videoconference. In response to receiving the scheduling input, the method generates a record of the videoconference in storage, and determines an agenda for the videoconference including a plurality of agenda items. Each agenda item is associated with a respective time period in the videoconference, and at least one of the time periods is automatically determined. The method detects that the videoconference is in progress, and in response, causes output during the videoconference on one or more participating user devices connected to the videoconference, where the output is based on at least one of the agenda items.

  • Patent number: 9357168
Abstract: Implementations generally relate to facilitating video conferences. In some implementations, a method includes enabling a video conference having a plurality of participants. The method further includes determining one or more primary speakers from the participants. The method further includes modifying video streams of one or more participants based on the determining one or more of the participants as primary speakers.

  • Patent number: 7655141
Abstract: The invention relates to a membrane pipe module, said module comprising a cylindrical housing containing a plurality of tubular membrane sections which extend in the axial direction and are interconnected at the ends thereof, forming longer tubular membrane sections. Said cylindrical housing comprises a heatable chamber, on one or both sides, comprising U-shaped connection pipes which are arranged therein and are guided through a separating wall between the chamber and the housing, with the two open ends thereof, and respectively connect two adjacent open tubular membrane sections, forming a membrane loop.

  • Patent number: 7517421
Abstract: Process for the continuous manufacture of tubular composite or multi-layer membranes comprising a porous sub layer (support layer), mainly determining the mechanical strength of the membrane, and adjacent to the support layer a second layer of a material of different chemical nature (separation layer), mainly determining the separation properties of the membrane, winding a respective flat sheet composite membrane lengthwise or spirally around a mandrel or shaft, into a tube or hose, the separating layer of the composite membrane facing to the inside of the tube or hose, gluing or welding the edges which may overlap or form a butt seam, and applying to said seam or overlapping area from the inside of the tube or hose a sealing material which can be solidified, and finally solidifying said sealing material.

  • Patent number: 6790350
Abstract: Apparatus for separating fluid mixtures includes plural tubular membranes parallel to each other. Each of the membranes has an inner lumen and the flow direction is from the exterior of the membrane to the inner lumen. Each tube is surrounded by a larger diameter feed tube and a gap is formed between the outside service of the tubular membrane and the inside service of the feed tube. This annulus provides a feed flow channel for the fluid mixture along the outer surface of the tubular membrane. The annulus has first and second ends connected to entrance and discharge ports respectively of the feed flow. The inner lumen of the tubular membranes are sealed from the annular gap and provided with a connection for the discharge of the permeate flow.

  • Patent number: 4912872
Abstract: The animal trap of the present invention includes a housing having a top wall, a bottom wall, a closed rear end, and a door opening at the forward end. A door is hinged at the upper edge of the door opening and is adapted to swing downwardly by gravity from an open position to a latched position. A trip treadle is located near the rear end of the trap and is connected by a rod to the door. When the animal depresses the trip treadle, the rod releases the door so the door can fall from its open to its closed position. A latch mechanism is connected with the door which causes the door to automatically latch and be held in its closed position whenever the door falls by gravity from its open to its closed position. The latch may be opened without exposing the operator's hand to the vicinity of the cage, thereby making it safer to release the animal.
