  • Publication number: 20220401284
Abstract: Examples of a motion guiding device of a target joint of a target body are disclosed. The device allows three degree-of-freedom (DOF) motion about a remote center of rotation that is approximately aligned to a center of rotation of the target joint. The device comprises a base adjustably connected to the target body and three rotary joints interconnected with a network of linkages. One end of the network of linkages is connected to the base and the opposite end to an effector plate. At least one of the three rotary joints is not aligned with an axes of motion of the target joint and any of these rotary joints may be positioned under angle with respect to the others. Each of the rotary joints provides one DOF of rotary motion about the respective axes and each axis of the three rotary joints intersect at the remote center of rotation. The geometry of the network of linkages is adjustable to adjust a position of the remote center of rotation in three dimensions.

  • Publication number: 20200047047
Abstract: A ball holder for punt training has a base, a length-adjustable post, a support arm, an intermediary connector, and a gripper. The ball holder is designed to be used in a set of two ball holders are positioned on opposite sides of a ball. Thus positioned, the two ball holders retain the ball at an optimal height for being punted. One end of the length-adjustable post is mounted to the base, such that the length-adjustable post is oriented perpendicular to the base. The support arm is laterally mounted onto the length-adjustable post to form a cantilever that retains the ball in a position offset from the length-adjustable post. The intermediary connector is a flexible fastening device that is connected in between the support arm and the gripper. Accordingly, the intermediary connector enables the gripper to be moved out of the way when an athlete punts the ball.

  • Patent number: 7194887
Abstract: The press of the invention includes a first component and a second component for holding and pressing a workpiece to be processed between them, the first component being driven into translation relatively to the second component by an air cylinder. Thus, the first component is floatably mounted relatively to the second component, said components comprising means for positioning them relatively to each other at the limit of travel. Proper centering of the workpiece between the components, without stresses, may thereby be provided.

  • Patent number: 4954620
Abstract: This material which has a hemi-cellulose content of less than 2%, a benzopyrene content of less than 2 .mu.g/kg and a calorific value which is about 20% greater than that of the starting material is obtained by isothermal treatment between 220.degree. C. and 280.degree. C. for a period of thirty minutes using crossed flows of treated material and of oxygen-free hot gases in an oven including stirring means (6,9) and a gas generator (1) with the gas being circulated by a fan (3).

  • Patent number: 4946546
Abstract: A method of adhering a metal to a surface of a substrate of silica, quartz, glass or sapphire is set forth. The surface to be metallized is first roughened by mechanical abrasion to obtain a roughness lying between 0.2 .mu.m and 0.7 .mu.m and is then subjected to a chemical treatment of etching by immersion in an aqueous solution of HF. According to the invention, the method further comprises the following steps of ion etching of the surface down to a depth less than 30 nm and then applying to the surface a first metallic adherence layer by cathode sputtering.
