  • Patent number: 10947386
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are generally related to asphalt compositions, and particularly to enhanced asphalt compositions and methods and systems for manufacturing the same. The enhanced asphalt compositions include both a silane additive and a calcium composition. The silane additive includes benzyl alcohol and at least one organosilane. The enhanced asphalt compositions of the present invention have improved anti-stripping properties, but the quantities of calcium composition and silane additive required are less than the quantities necessary to prepare previously known asphalt compositions with improved anti-stripping properties.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 9, 2018
Date of Patent: March 16, 2021
    Inventor: Matthew Paul Elam
  • Patent number: 10654752
Abstract: Enhanced crack filler materials, systems, and methods for filling and repairing cracks in asphalt surfaces, such as asphalt roadways. The enhanced crack filler material includes crack filler and a silane additive. The silane additive includes organosilane, benzyl alcohol, and ethylene glycol. The crack filler, when combined with the silane additive, provides an enhanced crack filling material having a lower viscosity and a greater ability to penetrate cracks when compared to conventional crack filler materials.

  • Publication number: 20190039952
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are generally related to roadway maintenance and repair, and, in particular, to enhanced crack filler materials, systems, and methods for filling and repairing cracks in asphalt surfaces, such as asphalt roadways. The enhanced crack filler material includes crack filler and a silane additive. The silane additive includes organosilane, benzyl alcohol, and ethylene glycol. The crack filler can be a conventional crack filler material that, when combined with the silane additive, provide an enhanced crack filling material that enables improved crack filling operations, cleaning, and repair durability beyond conventional crack filler materials alone.

  • Patent number: 4683930
Abstract: A split retaining ring for locking a separable tire bead flange on a wheel rim has inboard and outboard facing portions and two circumferentially aligned terminal ends, each terminal end characterized by an outboard facing tab having a drilled-through bore. A buckle member having a pair of apertures is mounted on the retaining ring such that each tab passes through a respective aperture and the buckle functions to maintain the terminal ends of the retaining ring in a specific orientation when it is mounted on a wheel rim. A wire fastener is positioned through each drilled bore in a tab to retain the buckle member on the split retaining ring.
