  • Publication number: 20240102690
Abstract: An acoustically absorptive system for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a panel assembly. The panel assembly includes at least one acoustic absorptive member and a porous housing disposed about the at least one acoustic absorptive member such that a porous layer of the housing covers the at least one acoustic absorptive member at opposing faces of the panel assembly. A mounting assembly positions the panel assembly in a chamber of the HVAC system such that a gap is defined between a rear surface of the panel assembly and a wall of the chamber, the mounting assembly including one or more channels attached to the chamber.

  • Patent number: 6539302
Abstract: A web-based traffic notification service permits end users to select travel routes and automatically receive notification of routes having the fastest travel times. The service can be provided by a website configured to display an interface that allows users to create accounts for storing personal travel information. The travel information includes origin, destination, way point, and departure time data for trips selected by the user. For each trip, alternative routes are designated. At or near the selected departure time of a trip, travel times for the alternative routes are computed using real-time traffic data. The user is then automatically notified of the route having the fastest travel time using an email or voice message. The service can be configured so that the user is notified only when the travel time of a user-defined preferred route is longer than a secondary alternative route.

  • Patent number: 6251100
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved method of administering a pharmaceutical composition, such as an anesthetic through the skin of a patient without the use of a sharp or needle. This method includes the step of irradiating the stratum corneum of a region of the skin of the patient using a laser. By a selection of parameters, the laser irradiates the surface of the skin precisely to a selectable depth, without causing clinically relevant damage to healthy proximal tissue. A pharmaceutical composition is then applied to the region of irradiation.
