  • Publication number: 20230410616
Abstract: There is provided a security alarm system. The system includes an RFID tag mounted on a first of a window/door and framing thereof. The system includes a sensor with an RFID reader mounted on a second of the window/door and the framing. A distance between the sensor and the RFID tag varies as the window/door is opened. The sensor includes a signal range adjuster actuation of which alters the range within which the sensor can read the RFID tag. The system includes a control panel. The sensor signals the control panel to trigger an alarm when the distance between the sensor and the RFID tag increases beyond a threshold distance so altered and the sensor cannot read the RFID tag.

  • Patent number: 11645897
Abstract: There is provided a method of installing a magnetic proximity sensor including positioning the magnetic field sensor in a desired location and positioning a magnet in a desired location relative to the magnetic field sensor, with an indicator of the sensor continuing to be turned on during the predetermined period of time when the magnetic field generated by the magnet is sensed by the magnetic field sensor, and being turned off during the predetermined period of time when the magnetic field generated by the magnet is not sensed by the magnetic field sensor. The indicator light thus assists in determining proper relative positioning of the magnet and the magnetic field sensor. If after the predetermined period of time more time is needed to install the magnetic proximity sensor, the method includes initiates another predetermined period of time by removing and replacing a lid of the magnetic proximity sensor.

  • Patent number: 11558914
Abstract: In one example, a server obtains an indication that a first mobile device is in a predetermined proximity to a non-mobile device. In response, the server permits the first mobile device to pair with the non-mobile device. The server generates whitelisted information associated with the first mobile device by adding information associated with the first mobile device to a whitelist that controls mobile device pairing for the non-mobile device. The server also obtains an indication that a given mobile device has obtained one or more keep-alive messages from the non-mobile device. Based on the whitelisted information, the server determines whether to permit the given mobile device to pair or remain paired with the non-mobile device. In response to determining to permit the given mobile device to pair or remain paired with the non-mobile device, the server permits the given mobile device to pair or remain paired with the non-mobile device.

  • Publication number: 20220335127
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for detecting side-channel exploit attacks such as Spectre and Meltdown. Performance monitoring circuitry includes first counter circuitry to monitor CPU cache misses and second counter circuitry to monitor DTLB load misses. Upon detecting an excessive number of cache misses and/or load misses, the performance monitoring circuitry transfers the first and second counter circuitry data to control circuitry. The control circuitry determines a CPU cache miss to DTLB load miss ratio for each of a plurality of temporal intervals. The control circuitry the identifies, determines, and/or detects a pattern or trend in the CPU cache miss to DTLB load miss ratio. Upon detecting a deviation from the identified CPU cache miss to DTLB load miss ratio pattern or trend indicative of a potential side-channel exploit attack, the control circuitry generates an output to alert a system user or system administrator.

  • Patent number: 11416603
Abstract: Methods, systems, articles of manufacture and apparatus to detect process hijacking are disclosed herein. An example apparatus to detect control flow anomalies includes a parsing engine to compare a target instruction pointer (TIP) address to a dynamic link library (DLL) module list, and in response to detecting a match of the TIP address to a DLL in the DLL module list, set a first portion of a normalized TIP address to a value equal to an identifier of the DLL. The example apparatus disclosed herein also includes a DLL entry point analyzer to set a second portion of the normalized TIP address based on a comparison between the TIP address and an entry point of the DLL, and a model compliance engine to generate a flow validity decision based on a comparison between (a) the first and second portion of the normalized TIP address and (b) a control flow integrity model.
