  • Patent number: 8585093
Abstract: The booklet comprises a number of sheets between a cover, and each sheet has a front side and a rear side. At least one data page is provided that is joined to the cover in a fixed manner. The data page comprises a flexible layer and this flexible layer projects with an area out of a data carrier. On this area, the data page is joined to the cover and to the remaining sheets. The flexible layer is flatly joined to at least one other layer, for example, by welding or bonding and is thus inseparably bound without a mechanical joining part.

Date of Patent: November 19, 2013
    Assignee: Trüb AG
Inventors: Paul Christen, Stefan Egli, Christof Stutz, Oliver Fankhauser, Stephan Hofstetter
  • Patent number: 8419069
Abstract: In order to produce a data carrier, a substrate is printed with a printing ink and personalized by means of a laser. The printing ink is laser-active and is converted at least in regions during the personalization in such a way that, for example, a silver-grade pigment is formed which is readily visible only when the substrate is inclined. In particular, the printing ink has a comparatively small proportion of carbon black that is converted by the laser essentially without disturbing combustion and overall formation.

  • Publication number: 20070279697
Abstract: The security element has a pattern, and in particular a Moiré pattern which contains a coded pattern or image which is made visible through a filter. The filter is arranged on a layer that is fixedly connected to a substrate, a distance of at least 0.025 mm being present between the pattern and the filter. When the security element is tilted, the pattern or the image moves continuously. The pattern is preferably a band Moiré pattern. The filter is preferably a line filter that is laser-transmissive. The pattern is preferably produced through the filter by means of a laser. The security element according to the invention is distinguished by high security against forgery and can nevertheless be produced in a comparatively cost-effective manner.

  • Patent number: 6867167
Abstract: The invention relates to a recording medium provided with colored image information, notably an identification card or value card. The colored image information is applied to a surface (A) of a polycarbonate layer which is treated to give it adhesive properties. The colored image information is notably applied by means of a thermal method and the surface (A) is preferably treated by application of an adhesive coating.

  • Publication number: 20040178625
Abstract: The card-format data medium (1, 1′) has a substrate (S) with an upper and a lower surface (10, 11) and an encircling edge (10a). A transparent protection layer (6) and a security film (5) are applied to the top surface (10) of the substrate (S). The security film (5) is positioned within the top surface (10) of the substrate (S) and the transparent protection layer (6) projects beyond the security film (5) all the way around. In at least one peripheral area (6a, 6a′), the protection layer (6) is bonded directly to the substrate (S) over a wide area. The data medium (1, 1′) is particularly resistant to environmental factors and secure against tampering and counterfeiting.

  • Patent number: 6722700
Abstract: The data carrier is preferably an identity card or payment card and is provided with at least one layer forming a card body, a transparent outer layer laminated thereon and a planar security element that is arranged between two laminated layers and that is covered by a protective layer. At least one of the laminated layers is transparent. The security element laminated therein is provided with especially holographic or kinegraphic information and is particularly protected against damage.

  • Publication number: 20020046635
Abstract: The card punching machine has a hollow cylindrical punching tool (12) which is driven into a flat sheet (10) to be punched. The sheet (10) is punched on a plastic back-pressure plate (8) and is essentially made of polycarbonate or a laminate that includes at least one layer made of polycarbonate. The card punching machine can be used to manufacture high-quality cards from polycarbonate or from the above mentioned laminate.
