  • Publication number: 20060013964
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus and method for focused electric field enhanced plasma-based ion implantation. The apparatus includes an implantation chamber, a vacuum pump for maintaining the pressure in the implantation chamber at a desired level, a sample holder, means for applying a negative potential to the sample holder, and means for supplying a gaseous or vaporized implantation material. The supplying means takes the form of a feed conduit having an exit opening located in the implantation chamber above the sample holder, and when a negative potential is applied to the sample holder the exit opening of the feed conduit is maintained at a potential that is positive relative to the sample holder.

  • Patent number: 6727029
Abstract: A reticle for holding a mask thereon with reduced particle contamination problem is described. The reticle is constructed by a base plate that is formed of an optically transparent material such as quartz and has a recessed slot in a top surface to enclose an area at least the size of a mask formed on the base plate. An adhesive partially fills the recessed slot such that a top surface of the adhesive is at least 0.5 mm below the top surface of the base plate. A pellicle frame is mounted in the recessed slot with a bottom end of the frame encased in the adhesive and a thin film covering the top end of the pellicle frame to from a hermetically sealed cavity for protecting the mask.

  • Patent number: 6009474
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for re-assigning network addresses to a plurality of network servers by re-configuring a client host coupled to the network servers. According to the invention, when there are changes to network connections, the IP addresses (i.e., network addresses) of the individual network servers can be re-assigned automatically at the client host without powering off the network servers. According to the invention, in re-assigning a new network address to a port of the network server, a bootstrap protocol (BOOTP) request is first issued by the client host to the network server. The BOOTP request is received by the network server which then sends a BOOTP response to the client host to request a new network address. After the client host receives the BOOTP response, it sends a BOOTP reply to the network server. The BOOTP reply includes a new network address for the port of the network server. The above procedure is repeated for each port of the network server.

  • Patent number: 5948108
Abstract: A method and system for providing a fault tolerant access between network clients and a network server. Accordingly, a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a first primary input/output process (IOP) and a second backup IOP are provided in a first network client. A first backup IOP and a second primary IOP are provided in a second network client. The first backup IOP is a backup of the first primary IOP and the second backup IOP is a backup of the second primary IOP. A first preferred access path between the first primary IOP and the network server as well as a first alternate access path between the first backup IOP and the network server are defined. Similarly, a second preferred access path between the second primary IOP and the network server as well as a second alternate access path between the second backup IOP and the network server are defined. A first network connection between the first primary IOP and the network server is established via the first preferred access path.

  • Patent number: 5585081
Abstract: A method for controlling emissions of a fossil fuel fired boiler including a high temperature fabric filter house with an SCR catalyst situated therein for receiving flue gases along with an injected ammoniacal compound and sorbent. The sorbent reacts with the SO.sub.x while the ammoniacal compound reduces the NO.sub.x in the presence of the SCR catalyst inside the high temperature fabric filter house. Both the SO.sub.x and the particulates are removed upstream of the SCR catalyst to diminish the problems of SO.sub.2 or SO.sub.3 poisoning of the catalyst and erosion and fouling of the catalyst with the fly ash. Since the sulfur oxides and particulates are removed prior to the heat recovery system, the fouling and corrosion potential are substantially decreased thus allowing the heat recovery system to be operated at a lower outlet flue gas temperature which yields an incremental improvement in energy recovery.

  • Patent number: 4041819
Abstract: Apparatus for producing sheets of corrugated board from a moving web includes stationary upper and lower slitter devices for slitting the web longitudinally into a plurality of narrow webs and means for leading each of these narrow webs to a selected one of three cutoff devices located at different heights. The means for leading the narrow webs to the cutoff includes stationary director-support means and presettable automatic lead-in table elements that are selectively operable between three positions. The lead-in table elements are also operable as a group to a raised position wherein they are retracted so as to permit a workman to clear jams or otherwise service the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4033217
Abstract: A duplex slitter is provided with two stationary stations each having one or more pairs of drive shafts rotated on fixed centers and carrying a plurality of slitting and creasing head pairs. Each station is provided with a single mechanism for power adjustment of all head pairs. The mechanism is movable the entire length of the shafts and is selectively engageable and disengageable with each head pair. After the head pairs are in desired longitudinal positions along the shafts, the adjusting mechanism is parked at one end of the shafts outboard of the web path or working area of the station.
