  • Publication number: 20240122595
Abstract: According to one aspect, a fastening device may include a coupling body having (1) a portion configured to couple to a distal end of a medical device, (2) a cartridge holder, and (3) an anvil pivotably coupled to the cartridge holder. The cartridge holder and the anvil may extend distally from the portion and may be configured to extend distally of a distalmost face of the medical device when the portion is coupled to the distal end of the medical device. A flexible member may be configured to extend through a channel of the medical device. A fastener cartridge may be coupled to a distal end of the flexible member, including at least one fastener, and may be configured for releasable coupling to the cartridge holder.

  • Publication number: 20220382520
Abstract: A message is embedded within an entropy stream. The message is encrypted using a onetime pad (OTP) and thus looks like part of the entropy string since the OTP encrypted messages is, as long as the “pad” material and message content are known, itself random to the observer. The encrypted message contains information used to identify and/or point to relevant information in another part of the entropy stream. For example, the OTP-encrypted message may indicate the number of units of the message, and point to a position in another part of the stream where another message is located. The stream may be randomly and deterministically expanded.

  • Patent number: 9862582
Abstract: A safety device for an aerial lift includes a basket with controls which permit an operator standing in the basket to maneuver the basket. The safety device includes an alarm, a switch activation device proximate to the controls and two solenoid operated relays, one connected with a normally-closed manually operable emergency switch which is operable to cut electrical supply and prevent further movement of the basket, and one connected with a foot operable safety switch, which must be held closed by an operator to activate the controls. Each relay is held in a closed condition unless caused to change to an open condition to cut electrical supply. The relays are controlled by a programmable control box connected to the switch activation device, foot switch and alarm. The control box causes the alarm to operate in accordance with the condition of the foot operable safety switch.
