  • Publication number: 20190338581
Abstract: A fenestration unit including a first panel having a leading portion and a trailing portion, a second panel, and a frame including a first lateral member and a second lateral member. The first lateral member has a trolley space configured to slideably receive a trolley assembly. The trolley assembly includes a first trolley coupled to the leading portion of the first panel and a second trolley coupled to the trailing portion of the first panel. Each of the first and the second trolleys includes a guide pin slideably received in the leading and trailing tracks, respectively. The guide pins are configured to guide the first panel out of a coplanar relationship with the second panel when the first panel is slid to an opened position and guide the first panel into a coplanar relationship with the second panel when the first panel is slid to a closed position.

  • Publication number: 20180105664
Abstract: A method for treating an extruded or molded building component, the building component formed of a substantially amorphous thermoplastic having a glass transition temperature above room temperature. The method includes heating the building component from room temperature to a treatment temperature between room temperature and the glass transition temperature, maintaining the building component at the treatment temperature for a treatment time while supporting the building component to prevent sagging, and cooling the building component from the treatment temperature. The building component does not reach the glass transition temperature after reaching the treatment temperature.

  • Patent number: 8833035
Abstract: A method of replacing an existing fenestration unit secured in a rough opening in a wall having a finished exterior includes releasing an existing fenestration unit from the wall by cutting around the existing fenestration unit, including cutting into the finished exterior of the wall and through a perimeter portion of the existing fenestration unit to release the fenestration unit from the wall. The method also includes removing the existing fenestration unit from the rough opening in the wall, installing a water management system along a sill of the rough opening, and inserting a new fenestration unit into the rough opening. The new fenestration unit is secured in the rough opening.

  • Patent number: 8713854
Abstract: Some aspects relate to weather seal systems for forming water barriers and air barriers. Some air barriers include a sill portion, a frame portion, and a transition portion extending between the sill and frame portions, where the transition portion extends inwardly and downwardly from the frame portion of the air barrier, toward an interior side of an associated door assembly, to the sill portion of the air barrier. The transition portion optionally provides a buffer zone, or transition zone of air at a greater spacing from the water barrier. In some embodiments, the transition zone is equilibrated to external pressures and supplies substantially dry air to air leaks in the air barrier.

  • Patent number: 7174941
Abstract: An actuation system for use with an adjustable covering for a fenestration product. The actuation system coupled to an operator for controlling adjustment of extension and contraction of the covering. The actuation system including at least one lift mechanism configured to decouple the actuation system from the operator during a potentially damaging event, such as slack in a lift cord during extension of the covering. The lift mechanism later recoupling the actuation system and operator while maintaining rotational registration between multiple lift mechanisms of the actuation system.
