  • Patent number: 9160915
Abstract: An orientation associated with an electronic device may be identified. The orientation may correspond to a first orientation or a second orientation, which may each correspond to any orientation within respective ranges of orientations. The device may include an adjustment element for adjusting an operational parameter associated with the device. If the identified orientation corresponds to the first orientation, a first adjustment of the operational parameter may be associated with actuation of a first portion of the adjustment element and a second adjustment of the operational parameter may be associated with actuation of a second portion of the adjustment element. If the identified orientation corresponds to the second orientation, the second adjustment of the operational parameter may be associated with actuation of the first portion and the first adjustment of the operational parameter may be associated with actuation of the second portion.

  • Patent number: 9153902
Abstract: Certain embodiments herein relate to mounting configurations for transferring forces or loads away from connectors for a device. A mounting element may be secured to a connector and, in response to the connector receiving a certain amount of force, may move the connector to a surface or an element associated with the device that may be more suitable for withstanding the force. Various positions of a mounting element with respect to a connector, and/or geometric variations of the mounting element, may allow the mounting element to move the connector in multiple planes, such as vertical, horizontal, and/or diagonal.

  • Publication number: 20130314055
Abstract: A capacitor-based (supercapacitor, ultracapacitor or pseudocapacitor) electrical charger, rechargeable device and energy storage pack for use with a rechargeable power tool. The rechargeable device includes a storage capacitor. The electrical charger includes a supply capacitor electrically connected to an electrical contact, the supply capacitor being charged when the electrical charger is connected to a power source. While in use, any charge in the supply capacitor is rapidly distributed between the supply capacitor and the storage capacitor when the rechargeable device is mounted in the receiver of the electrical charger. The electrical charger includes a safety interlock switch which only supplies power to the electrical contact of the charger after electrical terminal of the rechargeable device have engaged the electrical contact.

  • Patent number: 8235828
Abstract: A diaphragm coupling having first and second diaphragm plates that are joined together around their outer edges. Each diaphragm plate has a central, axially-extending hub. The hub of the first plate supports within it a pin member having an outwardly projecting shoulder at each end adapted to engage an internal shoulder on the hub of the first plate at one end and an internal shoulder on the hub of the second plate at the other end so as to limit axial separation of the two hubs—from one another.
