  • Patent number: 5022867
Abstract: An electrical terminal is shown which includes an insulation displacement type slot which is useable with stranded wire. The insulation displacement slot has two plates at each end of a base portion which are folded up to face one another. The plates form open slots for the receipt of the insulated stranded wire, and the plates are rotatable one towards the other, to bring side edges of the plates through the insulation and against the individual conductor strands for termination therewith. The side edges of the plate portions are formed into arcuate sections which prevent lateral movement of the strands within the slots.

  • Patent number: 4998086
Abstract: An electrical fuse assembly has a dielectric housing and a fuse terminal which is stamped and formed from metal stock having the appropriate electrical characteristics. The fuse terminal has blade portions which are made from metal stock which has been folded over, to provide the blade portions with the strength characteristics required. Support members are also provided on the fuse terminal. The support members cooperate with cooperation surfaces to insure that the fuse terminal is properly positioned in the housing of the assembly. During the manufacture of fuse assembly a positioning bar extends between respective conductors. The positioning bar provides the structural support required to insure that the conductors are maintained in space relationship. After the conductors are partially inserted into the housing, a portion of the positioning bar is removed to provide a stop means which cooperates with the housing of the fuse assembly.

  • Patent number: 4938720
Abstract: An electrical terminal for receiving a pin (15) comprises a rolled socket (2) surrounded by a helper spring sleeve (6). The socket (2) has contact springs (10) with contact bosses (12). The sleeve (6) has spring arms (42) which are provided about the circumference of the sleeve proximate an end (38) thereof. The spring arms (42) are configured to provide a pivoting action when a force is applied thereto. The pivoting action provides for reliable secondary 10 locking, as well as a centering and anti-rotation feature, thereby insuring that a positive electrical connection will be effected between the pin (15) and the socket (2).

  • Patent number: 4550972
Abstract: Stamped and formed contact socket has a first circumferentially continuous ring at its pin receiving end and a second circumferentially continuous ring at its inner end. An intermediate portion of the socket comprises an even number plurality of pairs of beams which have their ends integral with the first and second rings. Inwardly formed spherical bosses are provided on the rings which engage a pin upon movement of the pin into the socket. The bosses are spaced along the axis of the socket and are encountered sequentially during movement of the pin into the socket.
