    Abstract: A forceps for inserting a catheter into a patient including a pair of jaws for receiving a flange on the neck of a cannula which mounts the catheter, and a catheter-engaging member for engaging the hub of a catheter to force it into the patient, the forceps including finger and thumb-receiving rings connected to the jaws and the catheter-engaging member to cause them to be movable relative to each other to withdraw the cannula from the catheter after the latter has been inserted into the patient.
