Publication number: 20240082748Abstract: A toy includes a magnetically responsive member, a fulcrum member, a printed circuit board (PCB), a lid covering the PCB, an activation switch, a touch sensor, a motion sensor, an audio transducer, a signal generator and a controller. The flexible PCB includes an electromagnetic coil, and a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs). Opening of the lid actuates the activation switch, and in response, the controller controls the signal generator to generate a coil control signal for the electromagnetic coil to produce a magnetic field that interacts with the magnetically responsive member, to induce oscillatory flapping of the PCB. In response to detecting a touch signal from the controller, or a motion signal from the motion sensor, the controller also generates a LED control signal to control illumination of the LEDs while the PCB is flapping, and an audio control signal to control the audio transducer to output sound.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 9, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventors: Amir HADDADI, Benjamin Elias DERMER, Paul Andrew REYNOLDS, Amrit Dhoot, Martin Labrecque

Patent number: 9981533Abstract: A liftgate/decklid assembly for a motor vehicle includes a liftgate panel hingedly connected to the vehicle to define a liftgate swing arc. A decklid panel is hingedly connected to the liftgate panel to define a decklid swing arc. The decklid and liftgate panels are not aligned, causing the decklid swing arc to be different from the liftgate swing arc. The assembly further includes a liftgate/decklid assembly closure mechanism including an articulating striker configured for translation between a first orientation and a second orientation. The first orientation is normal to the liftgate swing arc and the second orientation is normal to the decklid swing arc.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2016Date of Patent: May 29, 2018Assignee: Ford Global technologies LLCInventors: Paul Elia, Donald P. Iacovoni, Paul L. Heirtzler, Henry W. Hausler, John Patrick Doyle

Patent number: 9656534Abstract: An active pressure relief system for a vehicle cabin in response to a cabin-door closure. An air-extractor may be configured to open when a cabin-door is opened, and remain open until the last of a number of cabin-doors are closed. The air-extractor allows for the increased pressure resulting from the cabin-door closure to be equalized with the external environment through the air-extractor. After the last of a number of cabin-doors are closed, the air-extractor closes to inhibit noise and external elements from entering the cabin through the air-extractor.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: May 23, 2017Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: David Arthur Wade, Paul Elia, James Antime Marleau, Paul Repp, Richard E.
