Abstract: Methods, systems, and articles of manufacture for performing nutrient trading is described. In one configuration consistent with certain features related to the present invention, a server may provide available nutrient information associated with a source based on current management practices and nutrient information associated with the source. The available nutrient information may include estimated nutrient loads, costs, and available nutrient credits. The server may also manage nutrient trading between market participants associated with respective watershed sources. The server may allow a market participant to present a trade offer for buying and/or selling nutrient credits to the server. The server may make the trade offer available to other market participants and process bids associated with the offer. Once a bid is accepted by the market participant who presented the trade offer, the server may register the accepted bid as a nutrient trade.
