  • Patent number: 4330962
Abstract: The grinding machine comprises a frame, a stationary table for supporting a grinding-wheel carriage, and a bed for supporting a movable table. The workpiece to be ground is mounted between a headstock and a tailstock which are carried by the movable table. The grinding-wheel is fixed on a sleeve which is freely mounted for rotation on a shaft, the two ends of which are rigidly fixed respectively in two supports mounted on the grinding-wheel carriage directly above the carriage slideways.

  • Patent number: 4281563
Abstract: A rotating element such as a grinding-wheel sleeve rotatably mounted on a stationary central shaft is provided with a plurality of annular balancing chambers which communicate permanently with a source of oil under pressure by means of a common calibrated constriction and with a source of compressed air by means of individual screw-type regulating pintles, each chamber being also connected to a return duct through a constriction.

  • Patent number: 4274229
Abstract: The grinding machine comprises a frame having an upper portion in the form of a stationary table for supporting a grinding-wheel carriage, and a bed provided with slideways for supporting the headstock and tailstock between which is mounted the workpiece to be ground. In order to facilitate drainage of water from the surfaces of the machine, the top uncovered edge surfaces of the bed are downwardly inclined towards the interior of the bed in which ducts are provided for collecting the water within a discharge chute.

  • Patent number: 4250667
Abstract: The device comprises two rotary carrier-plates each fitted with a carriage which is equipped with a chuck for gripping one end of a crankshaft and which is adapted to move on a diametral guide of the carrier-plate. The plane of the axes of the crankpins is located in the plane of displacement of the axes of the jaws on each side of the axis of rotation of the carrier-plates at a distance equal to the radius "r" of rotational motion of the crankpins for the successive grinding of the outer crankpins and of the inner crankpins. The invention is applicable to machines for grinding the crankpins of crankshafts having four crankpins located in the same plane.

  • Patent number: 4221080
Abstract: The grinding machine essentially comprises a frame on which a grinding-wheel slide is capable of moving towards a workpiece carried by a sliding table designed in two separate parts or table components, one of which is adapted to carry a headstock while the other carries a tailstock. The two table components are provided with means for controlling their movements in opposite directions and the tailstock table component is subjected to the action of a restoring spring for urging it towards the headstock table component.

  • Patent number: 4001983
Abstract: A loader assembly comprising a channel member for gravitationally delivering unground workpieces to and removing finished workpieces from the grinding station of a machine tool such as a cylindrical grinder, the channel member including a magazine portion for holding a plurality of unground workpieces, means for sequentially releasing workpieces from the magazine portion, means for stopping the gravitational displacement of a released workpiece at a predetermined ready position, locator means, means for advancing the locator means from a retracted position beyond the channel to an advanced position within the channel, means for freeing the stopped workpiece after the locator means has been displaced to the advanced position so that the freed workpiece will gravitationally locate against the advanced locating means, and means for selectively retracting the locator means from the advanced position to the retracted position.
