  • Patent number: 10368504
Abstract: The invention includes a process and system for controlling a genus of valve, typically in a pipe network. The genus of valve is herein referred to as a modulation assisted valve (MAV). The process and system of controlling said MAV's comprises a multitude of embodiments of such MAV's as deployed in a plurality of network configurations of pipes, such networks of pipes further interconnected with means of modulating the fluid forces encountered by such MAV's so as to assist in the actuation of such MAV's. The coordinated modulation of fluid forces within embodiments of pipe networks enables MAV's that are connected in common with the same pipe network to be controlled and actuated with reduced electrical energy consumed by said MAV's.

  • Publication number: 20150234391
Abstract: A valve for controlling fluid flow may include a conduit with an inlet and an outlet. A modulating orifice of the valve can include a flow passage, the size of which can be varied by movement of a flow control element that moves in response to rotation of a magnetic rotor acted upon by a stator of a motor. The magnetic rotor can be submerged within a fluid passing through the conduit of the valve. Apparatus, systems and methods of use and making of valves having one or more of these features are described.
