    Abstract: A portable, handheld induction heater capable of attachment to differently-sized work coils, including a self-resonating oscillator that automatically tunes to the work coil to maintain resonance, a tank circuit for circulating current through the work coil in order to induce a magnetic field in the material to be heated by the induction heater, and a near-zero detector circuit functioning to keep the oscillator operating at a frequency of resonance for the tank circuit.
