  • Patent number: 6634117
Abstract: The method serves for drying an active part containing at least one winding and solid insulations. The active part is arranged in a vacuum-tight housing and is heated there to a final temperature value (Tfin) by means of warmed oil and by means of a current (I) carried in the winding. The warmed oil is sprayed in the housing at reduced pressure (p) and with the current (I) switched on. At the same time, water is extracted from the active part. The sprayed oil is collected on the housing bottom, after discharging heat to the active part, and, after rewarming, is sprayed once again in the housing at reduced pressure and with the current switched on. The active part is thus dried particularly quickly and carefully.

  • Publication number: 20020178604
Abstract: The apparatus serves for drying solid insulation of an electrical device (40) by means of the heat of condensation emitted by the vapor of a solvent. It has an evacuable autoclave (10) accommodating the solid insulation, as well as an evaporator (20) producing solvent vapor, an evacuable condenser (50), connected to the autoclave (10), for condensing a solvent led out of the autoclave (10) and a vapor mixture containing water, and a heat recuperator (30). In the heat recuperator (30), the solvent acts as heat-absorbing medium and the vapor mixture as heat-emitting medium.

  • Publication number: 20020178812
Abstract: The method is used for drying solid insulation for an electrical appliance by means of the condensation heat emitted from the vapor of a solvent. When the solvent vapor condenses on the solid insulation, a vapor mixture is formed which contains solvent and water. This vapor mixture is supplied at a controlled flow rate from an evacuated autoclave to a condenser which is arranged outside the autoclave, and is condensed.

  • Patent number: 6419180
Abstract: The apparatus is intended for guiding a cable from an outlet of a cable drum, which is rotated by a drive, to an inlet of a cable processing appliance which draws the cable in with a predetermined speed and a tensile force. Between the cable outlet and a cable inlet of the cable processing appliance, the apparatus has an element for guiding the cable, forming at least one rising cable section and at least one falling cable section. The rising cable section is monitored by a first sensor system, and/or the falling cable section is monitored by a second sensor system in each case in order to detect the position of the cable and/or a force acting on the cable. The variables detected by the sensor system are used to control the drive.

  • Patent number: 6345908
Abstract: The device is used to mix and degas a flowable mass (5), in particular a filler-containing casting resin. It is provided with a cylindrically constructed, evacuatable container (1), the container axis (2) of which is oriented essentially vertically. Guided along the container axis (2), it also contains a shaft (12) that holds agitating elements (8, 21). The thin layer degassing system contains at least two conically constructed run-off surfaces (15, 16) offset axially relative to each other. The run-off surfaces are angled in opposing directions.

  • Patent number: 6080964
Abstract: The process is used for predrying a coil block (5) inside a gas-tight housing (1), said coil block containing at least one winding (51) and solid insulations. The winding is hereby heated under reduced pressure with direct current or low-frequency alternating current to an upper winding temperature. Parallel to this, the solid insulations are heated with air circulating inside the housing (1). The air temperature is hereby maintained lower than the winding temperature. The combined heating with heating current and circulating air results in an especially uniform predrying, and at the same time saves time and energy. At the same time, the winding can be stabilized and dimensioned during the predrying process under the action of pressure.

  • Patent number: 5948367
Abstract: The device serves to meter at least two free-flowing components and to convey metered quantities of the components into a mixer in which a reactive compound is formed from the metered quantities. For each component the device contains, as metering and conveying means, in each case at least one pump, a flow meter and a pressure vessel. The pressure vessel is subdivided by a flexible diaphragm into a first part-volume, which in each case receives one of the components, and a second part-volume which can be acted upon by incompressible fluid. When a starting component containing abrasive substances is used, to avoid sedimentation of the abrasive substances during metering and conveying, the pressure vessel which receives the abrasive component is designed and arranged in such a way that the abrasive component fed into its first part-volume rests on the flexible diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 5833363
Abstract: The device serves for mixing and degassing a free-flowing compound (5), in particular a casting resin containing filler. The device has an evacuable container (1, 6) of cylindrical design, the container axis (2) of which is aligned essentially in the vertical direction. Provided in the interior of the container is a rotatable plate (13), fastened on an axially guided shaft (12), for distributing compound (5) fed into the container (1, 6), as well as a thin-layer degassing system (14) which can be heated and cooled and degasses the compound (5) fed by the distributing plate (13). A stirrer homogenizes the degassed compound collected in the interior of the container. The thin-layer degassing system (14) occupies the major part of the space present between the shaft (12) and the wall of the container (1, 6).

  • Patent number: 5424513
Abstract: The method and the device for carrying out the method are used for producing transformers (27, 28, 29) which are filled with insulating means, especially transformers for distribution systems. In the case of the method, solid insulation of the transformers is dried in the device before addition of an insulating means, in that the low-voltage windings are short-circuited in every transformer, and the parallel-connected high-voltage windings (30, 31, 32) are heated by means of a low-frequency AC current. In this case, the mean temperature of the windings of the transformers is determined at the same time by measuring the low-frequency AC current, in order thus to make it possible to dry the solid insulation well.

  • Patent number: 5082535
Abstract: An apparatus for dissolving oil or PCB which exists in the electrical insulation of parts to be cleaned, wherein a solvent is evaporated during a heating phase by an evaporator located with the parts in an autoclave. The solvent vapor condenses on the parts and penetrates into the electrical insulation to form an oil or PCB-solvent mixture. The apparatus provides for a plurality of intermediate pressure reductions which are carried out in the autoclave, and during each intermediatre pressure reduction the solvent is simultaneously evaporated from the oil or PCB-solvent mixture, directly from the autoclave. That is, during each of the pressure reductions, the solvent supply is discontinued and the mixture circulated through a circulating line. Following the completion of each intermediate pressure reduction, the pure oil or PCB present in a condensate vessel is pumped out by an intermediately located feed pump through a connecting line and into a reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4469444
Abstract: A mixing and degassing apparatus for viscous substances is provided with a distributor plate located above heat exchanger coils and joined for rotation with an agitator shaft. The distributor plate has the configuration of a truncated cone. The distributor plate can be of a single piece or step-like with at least one step. Its circumference is provided with recesses to provide sections having different radii. The sections with the larger radius extend to near the inner surface of a vessel wall and the sections with the smaller radius terminate above the coils. In the case of the step-like distributor piece, thin layers of the insulating material overlap between each step in the area of partitions, while simultaneously being effectively degassed.
