  • Publication number: 20240130061
Abstract: Foldable apparatus comprise a foldable substrate comprising a substrate thickness. The second major surface of the foldable substrate faces an end portion of a first inner surface area of a first housing member extending along a first plane. The second surface faces an end portion of a second inner surface area of a second housing member extending along a second plane. A support is attached to at least the second housing member. The support contacts the second major surface when an angle between the first plane and the second plane ranges from about 80° to about 135°. The support is spaced from the second major surface when an angle between the first plane and the second plane ranges from about 0° to about 30°. In some embodiments, the foldable substrate comprises a neutral stress configuration at a parallel plate distance ranging from about 20 millimeters to about 200 millimeters.

  • Patent number: 11948051
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for auditing the results of a machine learning model includes: retrieving a set of state estimates for original time series data values from a database under audit; reversing the state estimation computation for each of the state estimates to produce reconstituted time series data values for each of the state estimates; retrieving the original time series data values from the database under audit; comparing the original time series data values pairwise with the reconstituted time series data values to determine whether the original time series and reconstituted time series match; and generating a signal that the database under audit (i) has not been modified where the original time series and reconstituted time series match, and (ii) has been modified where the original time series and reconstituted time series do not match.

  • Patent number: 8347978
Abstract: A driving tool having a driver, a power source, a sensor and a controller. The power source selectively provides an input to the driver to cause the driver to translate along an axis. The sensor senses a condition in the power source that is indicative of a level of kinetic energy of an element in the power source and generates a sensor signal in response thereto. The controller is coupled to the power source and the sensor and is responsive to the sensor signal for deactivating the power source to inhibit the power source from providing the input to the driver when the level of kinetic energy of the element in the power source is below a predetermined threshold. A method for operating a driving tool is also provided.

  • Patent number: 8123099
Abstract: A power tool with a flywheel, an activation arm, a driver, a cam and a clutch. The activation arm can have a first arm, a second arm, which can be pivotally mounted to the first arm, and a roller that can be coupled to the second arm. The driver can be disposed between the roller and the flywheel. The cam can be moveable in a predetermined direction for causing the activation arm to rotate about a pivot to drive the roller against the driver so that the driver frictionally engages the flywheel. The clutch can cooperate with the cam to inhibit the cam from moving in a direction opposite the predetermined direction in response to a reaction force that is applied by the driver onto the activation arm.

  • Patent number: 7877305
Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, a server system stores a plurality of textual scripts in a database server in association with a plurality of contractor actions. Each of the textual scripts comprises an alert notifying the contractor of an obligation to perform the associated contractor action. The server system generates a plurality of deadlines by which the contractor is required to perform the contractor actions, and provides a user interface that allows a user to submit a plurality of notices of completion for the contractor actions. If a particular notice of completion is not submitted by the deadline for the contractor action, the server system selects the textual script associated with the contractor action, converts the textual script to a voice message, and initiates transmission of the voice message to the contractor via a telephone network.

  • Publication number: 20100125464
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method for allowing an insured party to directly enter a list of insured items for valuation in connection with an insurance claim. The system includes an application server operating valuation software and an associated web site to allow an insured party to directly enter a list of damaged items in connection with an insurance claim, with the list of items stored in a database for valuation by an insurance carrier or claims administrator. An associated method allows the insured party to directly enter their list of damaged items to a database so that the item list may be retrieved and valuation information added by an insurance carrier or claims administrator.

  • Patent number: 7686199
Abstract: A tool with a driver, a structure, a motor assembly and a bumper. The driver has a plurality of bumper tabs, each of the bumper tabs having an arcuate first contact surface that is formed about a tab axis, each tab axis being generally perpendicular to a translation axis about which the driver translates. The motor assembly is coupled to the structure and configured to selectively translate the driver along the translation axis. The bumper abuts the structure and includes a plurality of bumper members. Each bumper member is located in-line with an associated one of the bumper tabs and includes an arcuate second contact surface that is formed about an axis that is generally orthogonal to the translation axis and the tab axis.

  • Patent number: 7503401
Abstract: A method for calibrating a power tool having a roller, a driver and a solenoid. The solenoid has a body and a rod and is coupled to the roller so as to be capable of selectively advancing the roller toward the driver. The method includes: locating the roller onto a predetermined portion of the driver; moving the body of the solenoid in a first direction until the occurrence of a first predetermined condition, the first direction being in a direction that causes the roller to be driven toward the driver; after the occurrence of the first predetermined condition, moving the body of the solenoid in a second direction opposite the first direction until the occurrence of a second predetermined condition and thereafter securing the body of the solenoid to inhibit further movement of the body of the solenoid.

  • Publication number: 20070226072
Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment, a claim administrator receives a list of salvage items associated with an insurance claim. The claims administrator dispatches a contractor to retrieve and store the salvage items, wherein the contractor is preferably a member of a restoration network associated with the claim administrator. The claim administrator then sells the salvage items to one or more buyers and collects payment for the salvage items from the buyers. The claims administrator also arranges for the delivery of the salvage items from the contractor to the buyers. Finally, the claim administrator distributes a first portion of the payment to the contractor and a second portion of the payment to the insurance carrier associated with the insurance claim. Thus, the claim administrator is able to manage the sale of the salvage items in connection with the management of the insurance claim.
