  • Patent number: 7225189
Abstract: Methods and systems provide for bi-directional communication between a spreadsheet application worksheet and a database data source that allows modified data to be written from a spreadsheet application to source data in a database data source from which the original pre-modified data was obtained. Offline data changes in a spreadsheet application are cached by a data provider application and are published to a remote data source when the spreadsheet application is synchronized with the data source. Error conditions and data conflicts resulting from new or modified data published to a database data source from a spreadsheet application worksheet are reported to a user of the spreadsheet application worksheet through a data provider application to allow the user an opportunity to resolve error conditions and data conflicts between the user's data changes and other data changes made to the same source data contained in the database data source.

  • Patent number: 5003863
Abstract: Located in a stationary frame is a cylinder-piston unit, the piston of which is adapted to displace the bearing housing of a roll in a paper-making machine at right angles to the longitudinal axis thereof. The bearing housing is guided in the frame with the aid of linear guide-elements. The radial play between the piston and the cylinder-bore is greater than the transverse play between the said linear guide-elements. Furthermore, the axial length of the piston is less than the depth of the cylinder-bore. Whenever the cylinder-piston unit is relieved of its load, and the cylinder thus returns to its position of rest, it is centered in the cylinder-bore by means of a centering device.

  • Patent number: 4986178
Abstract: Holding arrangement for a device directed against a linearly adjustable roll, such as a doctor blade, blowing device or similar. On a holding arrangement for a device for surface treatment of the roll shell, directed against a linearly adjustable roll, where the roll is endways mounted through a bearing housing each in a machine frame, where for each bearing housing a cylinder/piston unit is provided for displacement of the roll, and where the roll is removable from the machine frame together with the bearing housings, a holder plate is arranged between the bearing housing and the piston of the cylinder/piston unit, which holder plate is connected with a support bearing for the device for surface treatment of the roll shell. Available is thus a holding arrangement of the categorial type which relative to the roll is well adjustable, which need not be lifted off as the roll contacts the opposite roll and which overall can be so integrated that it remains on the machine frame as the roll is lifted off.

  • Patent number: 4838156
Abstract: A roller press has a press roll and at least one pressure roll applying pressure to it. In the end region of each pressure roll, there is an associated positioning cylinder. The positioning cylinders relieve the pressure of the pressure roll against the press roll automatically upon an impermissible increase in the operating pressure in the positioning cylinder. For this purpose, each positioning cylinder has a safety valve which is operated either by the working fluid in the positioning cylinder to the pressure relief condition or by an electrical signal, in different embodiments, to relieve pressure in the positioning cylinder. The safety valves are coupled to each other by a signal line. When one safety valve relieves one positioning cylinder, all of the positioning cylinders are relieved.
