  • Publication number: 20100329222
Abstract: A wireless telecommunications system having a plurality of radio base stations, the base stations in the system are arranged for communication with at least one user terminal in accordance with a first principle of wireless telecommunication. The system has at least a first sub-set of the plurality of radio base stations arranged for communication with at least one user terminal in the system in accordance with said first principle but also as MIMO-stations in cooperation with each other. Preferably, said first principle of wireless telecommunication is a principle within cellular telephony.

  • Patent number: 7639191
Abstract: The invention discloses an electronics device for personal use, comprising at least a first main surface, and at least a first antenna for communication via electromagnetic waves between the device and a second party. The antenna is an array antenna comprising at least a first and a second antenna element, and is arranged on said first main surface. Suitably, the electronics device is a portable computer comprising a lid which may be opened or closed, said first main surface being the lid, so that the antenna is arranged in the lid of the portable computer.

  • Publication number: 20090298421
Abstract: The invention discloses a repeater antenna for use in point-to-point applications in telecommunications systems in the microwave range, intended for connecting transmissions from a first radio unit at a first site to a second radio unit at a second site. The repeater antenna is essentially plane, and is designed as a traveling wave antenna with at least a first and a second antenna beam, so that the first beam can be used for transmissions to and from said first radio unit, and the second beam can be used for transmissions to and from said second radio unit.

  • Patent number: 6930873
Abstract: Characteristics of micro electromechanical switches can be changed by applying a control signal which either changes one or more parameters of the micro electromechanical switches or which controls beam movement by feedback signals. It is thereby possible to change switching transient time, maximum switching frequency, power tolerance, and/or sensitivity (actuation voltage) of a micro electromechanical switch.

  • Patent number: 6396439
Abstract: A method for controlling the radiation pattern of an antenna means comprising N helically configured radiating elements, where N is an integer greater than 1, an antenna system, comprising N helically configured radiating elements, and a radio communication device including such an antenna system. In the method, at least one property of at least one received signal from at least one of the radiating elements is measured, and at least one of the parameters phase (&phgr;n) and amplitude (An) for received signals and/or signals to be transmitted for at least one of the radiating elements is controlled as a response to the measured property of said received signal. The antenna system comprises means for controlling at least one of the parameters phase ((&phgr;n) and amplitude (An) for signals received and/or signals to be transmitted by at least one of the antenna elements.
