  • Patent number: 5157836
Abstract: A tool is described for separating a core, a rind and flesh of a fruit, in particular a pineapple, including, at least, a cylindrical corer which is provided at one end with a cutting edge and at the other end with a handle or other driving member, such as a motor. In the tool there is provided, close to the cutting edge of the corer at least one flesh cutter extending radially thereon and provided with at least one cutting edge, the shape of the flesh cutter being chosen such that upon rotating of the tool, it executes a helical movement with a predetermined pitch, and in that at the end of the flesh cutter, opposite the end fixed to the corer, there is provided, at least locally, a rind cutter extending parallel to the corer and provided with at least one cutting edge. Further an auxiliary screw connected with the corer may be present to at least partially determine the pitch of the tool.

  • Patent number: 4972694
Abstract: An "electronic" lock has a thrower with a radial lug for extending and retracting the bolt when turned by a key carrying a proper code. Turning of the thrower through a sufficient distance to shift the bolt is normally blocked by a dogging lever with which the thrower lug abuts. The thrower lug also sweeps a cam track on a second lever so as to pivot the latter during initial turning movement of the thrower away from its rest position. The second lever carries an electromagnet. While the electromagnet remains de-energized there is no interaction between the two levers so that the second lever can pivot independently of the first and turning of the thrower remains limited. When a correct key code is detected, however, the electromagnet is energized to hold the two levers together. Initial turning of the thrower thereby causes the second lever to carry the dogging lever away from its blocking position and thus free the thrower for 360.degree. movement.
