  • Patent number: 4619066
Abstract: Float release devices which are releasible from submerged articles in order to mark the location of the articles, which devices include in a first embodiment, a double pressure-actuated float attached to a bracket by means of a pair of pressure-actuated release mechanisms for releasing the float when the float and bracket are submerged. Straps attached to the bracket serve to secure the float to a non-floating article and a plug in the release mechanism facilitates equalization of pressure in the release mechanism housing. In another embodiment of the invention a single pressure-actuated release mechanism is provided in cooperation with a float and bracket, which bracket is located on the exterior of the article to be protected, such as a fishing rod. In an alternative design for protecting a fishing rod, the pressure-release mechanism is located in the fishing rod handle for release when the fishing rod falls overboard.

  • Patent number: 4210241
Abstract: The specification discloses a collapsible article carrier formed from a folded sheet of material that is alternatively foldable into a substantially flat, collapsed position and an open position for receiving articles. The article carrier includes a bottom member having first and second bottom panels. First and second side walls are hingedly joined along bottom edges thereof to edges of the first and second bottom panels. First and second end panels are hingedly joined to edges of the first side wall, and third and fourth end panels are hingedly joined to edges of the second side wall. The first and third end panels are hingedly joined to form a first end wall. The second and fourth end panels are hingedly joined to form a second end wall.

  • Patent number: 4201295
Abstract: The specification discloses a plastic collapsible article carrier having open and collapsed positions and adapted to be formed by the injection molding of plastic within opposing dies. The article carrier includes first and second end walls parallel to one another when the carrier is in the open position. The carrier further includes first and second side walls parallel to one another, which are hingedly joined to edges of the first and second end walls to extend perpendicularly to the first and second end walls when the article carrier is in the open position. Portions of the side walls have heights less than the height of the end walls. The first side wall is vertically spaced from the second side wall such that portions of the side walls are vertically offset to enable molding thereof in opposing dies.

  • Patent number: 4033066
Abstract: A fishing tackle box particularly adapted for storing plastic fishing worms. The tackle box includes an outer housing having two opposed open sides. A plurality of open top horizontal trays, are mounted within the housing in a stacked configuration. The trays are mounted for vertical movement within the housing and have compartments therein for storing fishing tackle such as fishing worms and the like. Each of the trays includes structure for maintaining the tray in any of a plurality of vertical positions within the housing. The trays may then be selectively positioned vertically in the housing to allow access to the compartments in the trays through the open sides of the housing.

  • Patent number: 3947991
Abstract: A compartmentalized container for storing fishing lures and other fishing components including a housing having an opening on at least one side and a cut-out adjacent to the opening on the top of the housing. A plurality of horizontal circular trays are disposed within the housing in a superposed stacked relation. The trays are rotatable about a common vertical shaft within the housing, with each tray having a cut-out which matches the cut-out in the top of the housing. When the cut-outs in the trays are aligned with the cut-out in the housing, the walls of the trays completely close the opening in the side of the housing. Each of the trays may be rotated such that the contents of the trays are accessible through the cut-out in the top of the housing. In one embodiment, the container has a vertical aperture which allows the container to be mounted over the shaft supporting the seat in a fishing vessel. The storage container may be locked on a motorized fishing vessel having a key operated ignition.
