  • Publication number: 20100070501
Abstract: A user of a computing device may see an item of interest she would like to remember for future reference. The user captures data of the item of interest and submits it to a memory enhancement service for enhancement and storage. The service submits the captured data to a human interaction task system which distributes the captured data to one or more human workers which to identify the item of interest, determine the user's interest in the item, and provide information regarding the item based on this determined interest. To facilitate the enhancement process, the user may add indications to the captured data prior to submission. Alternatively or additionally, the service may electronically submit queries to the user. The enhanced data returned from the human interaction task system is then stored by the memory enhancement service for subsequent recall by the user and possible use by the user.

  • Patent number: 6976524
Abstract: An apparatus for maximum work comprising central equipment comprising a refrigeration machine, a water heater, an evaporative cooler and hot and cold storage tanks. Airside equipment for providing supply air to a room or zone. A hot supply/return pipe, a cold supply pipe, and a cold return pipe. A water blending circuit comprising a hot supply runout pipe extending from the hot supply/return pipe and a cold supply runout pipe extending from the cold supply pipe, wherein the water blending circuit further comprises an upstream two position three way changeover valve comprising a first port, a second port, and a third port. The hot supply runout pipe connects to first port and the cold supply runout pipe connects to the second port. A modulating three way zone blending valve connected to the third port of the upstream two position three way valve, and a blending pump for pumping water through a roomside coil, so that return water exits the coil through a return pipe.

  • Patent number: 6834714
Abstract: A variable constant volume cooling/heating unit comprising a warm fluid delivery pipe; a cool fluid delivery pipe wherein the warm fluid deliver pipe and cool fluid deliver pipe lead to a two position three way valve, a modulating three way valve for mixing the flow of fluid, a thermostat to control the two position three way valve and the modulating three way valve, a return fluid pipe, means for pumping the fluid through a coil and means for drawing air to be conditioned over the coil. A damper controlled by the thermostat for controlling incoming outside out into the variable constant volume cooling/heating unit.

  • Publication number: 20040104278
Abstract: An apparatus for refrigeration and heating comprising a refrigeration machine for providing cold and hot fluid, the cold and hot fluid delivered through a cold supply pipe and a hot supply/return pipe to a fan coil unit. An upstream two position three-way valve connected to the cold supply pipe and to the hot supply/return pipe, a modulating three-way mixing valve located downstream of the upstream two position three-way valve, and a fan coil unit pump located downstream of the modulating three-way mixing valve. The modulating three-way mixing valve is for allowing none, a portion of, or all of the fluid in the coil to be recirculated through the coil by the fan coil unit pump. A downstream two position three-way valve located downstream of the modulating three-way mixing valve and for returning fluid to the cold return pipe or the hot supply/return pipe. The fan coil unit for refrigerating a room or walk in cooler by pumping cold fluid through the coil.

  • Patent number: 5616175
Abstract: A piece of crystal pulling furnace hardware, especially one selected from among crucible holder tops, crucible holder bottoms, heaters, heat shields, and pedestals, is provided as a three-dimensional carbon-carbon composite. The enhanced physical properties of such a material provide advantages in the diameter of the crystal being pulled, the use of larger charges of crystallizable material in the furnace, and an increased life for the hardware.

  • Patent number: 4389462
Abstract: A composite article having particular utility as a welding stud and a process for producing the article. The article is comprised of a pin and an enclosing member formed from a dissimilar material. The pin is comprised of a head and a shank. The pin is formed from a metal. The cross-section of the head is larger than that of the shank in a direction normal to the length of the pin. The enclosing member fits over and is adhered to the shank. The enclosing member is formed from material in powder form. It is placed upon the shank and sintered thereon. The enclosing member fits up against the head so that the article is substantially devoid of a gap therebetween. The absence of a gap is attributable to the shape of the shank. The cross-section of the shank is larger, in a direction normal to the length of the pin, adjacent the head than over other parts thereof.
