  • Publication number: 20030066250
Abstract: A method and apparatus to address high wind loading between vertical wall supports and roof trusses. The device is a continuous tie-down hurricane strap employing a cap member for securing multiple truss members with an inner and outer strap member secured along the length of the cap member to address both interior and external wind uplift. The inner and outer straps can be integrally formed with the cap member.

  • Patent number: 6185891
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a new method of building construction which eliminates traditional framed wall and trussed roof construction methods. The method of construction utilizes a polymer bonded foam-concrete structural composite building material formed from a styrene foam having a fiber reinforced, ethylene-vinyl acetate containing concrete emulsion integrally cured thereto, resulting in enhanced impact resistance and enhanced ability to withstand tensile load. The resultant structure has enhanced thermal insulation properties. The invention is further directed to a foam panel interface construction which renders the resultant structure impervious to wind damage at velocities in the range of about 155-310 mph.
