  • Patent number: 6986979
Abstract: This invention relates to a composition comprising microcapsules suspended in an aqueous media, said microcapsules comprising a water immiscible material contained within an encapsulating wall of polymeric material, wherein the aqueous media contains a stabilizer comprising an anionic polymer mixture comprising a first sulfonated polystyrene polymer and a second sulfonated polystyrene polymer wherein the ratio of the weight average polymer molecular weight of the first polymer to the second polymer is greater than 2. It further relates to an imaging element comprising said microcapsules.

  • Patent number: 5549843
Abstract: A method, a storage phosphor prepared by the method, and a storage panel. In the method, a precursor mixture is fired, at a temperature between 700.degree. C. and the melting point of the phosphor, to produce an intermediate product. The precursor mixture comprises a combination of species characterized by the relationship:MFX.sub.1-x I.sub.z.uM.sup.a X.sup.a :yA:eQwherein M is selected from Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba; X is selected from Cl and Br; M.sup.a is selected from Na, K, Rb and Cs; X.sup.a is selected from F, Cl, Br and I; A is selected from Eu, Ce, Sm, and Tb; Q is metal oxide; and 0<z.ltoreq.1; 0<u<1; 0<y.ltoreq.0.1; and 0<e<0.1. The intermediate product is then annealed in a slightly oxidizing atmosphere, at a temperature, which is lower than said temperature of firing and between about 400.degree. C. and about 800.degree. C., for a time sufficient to reduce the erase fraction of the resulting phosphor relative to the same phosphor produced by firing in the same manner, but not annealing.

  • Patent number: 5336893
Abstract: A phosphor composition which comprises oxygen and a combination of elements satisfying the relationship:[(Hf.sub.1-z Zr.sub.z).sub.1+x Sn.sub.1-x ].sub.1-y Ti.sub.2ywherein:x is in the range of from about -0.4 to 0.952y is in the range of from 0 to 0.5 andz is in the range of from 0 to 0.5These phosphors exhibit an orthorhombic crystal structure, and are useful in intensifying screens for producing a latent image in a silver halide radiographic element when imagewise exposed to X-radiation.
