  • Patent number: 8059791
Abstract: A visual alert method and system permits (1) a visual alert to be provided with a call to a called party on a call termination attempt; (2) a visual alert to be provided to a calling party on a call termination attempt; and (3) the respective parties to block undesired visual alerts. Such visual alerts may comprise icons that may be navigated by a subscriber to trigger and initiate corresponding and dynamically updatable communications and communication links.

  • Patent number: 4425549
Abstract: A fin line apparatus, within a rectangular waveguide, for detecting R.F. signals utilizes metallic film conductors, disposed on both surfaces of a planar dielectric centered in the waveguide parallel to its sidewalls, for forming aligned channels, a first of which couples R.F. signals to a diode which provides rectified signals to a metallic film filter disposed in a gap in a conductor which opens into the first channel.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 27, 1981
Date of Patent: January 10, 1984
    Assignee: Sperry Corporation
Inventors: Paul M. Schwartz, James C. Chu
  • Patent number: 4370659
Abstract: A broad band millimeter wave finline antenna includes a finline transmission means having a flared end portion formed by tapering the adjacent edges of the finline elements and affixing planar sectoral conducting members to the tapered edges. The finline transmission means may be mounted in a housing that provides a transition for coupling the antenna to exterior waveguides or other transmission means.

  • Patent number: 4229828
Abstract: The specification describes a means and method for mixing millimeter wave RF energy of one chosen transverse electric (TE) waveguide mode with a local oscillator signal of another chosen TE waveguide mode, and such mixing is accomplished by applying those RF and local oscillator signals to a pair of reverse poled and parallel connected mixer diodes. These mixer diodes are connected at a chosen location within a rectangular waveguide and between top and bottom walls thereof and are symmetrically spaced across the width of the waveguide with respect to the center or a/2 location in the guide, with "a" being the width dimension in the guide. An IF output signal is derived at a common output node for the mixer diodes.
