    Abstract: A safety clutch for a power operated lawn mower requiring a minimum of parts and readily adaptable to exisitng mowers having a clutch with detents that are biased against a driven member bolted to a mower blade for normal operation, wherein the clutch becomes disengaged from the driven member and blade in case of overload, while the engine shaft continues to rotate. There are no levers necessary to control either engagement or disengagement of the clutch.
