  • Patent number: 6691364
Abstract: A vehicle mounted broom that has a modular construction, improved sweeping action and versatile mounting capabilities. The broom has brush strips and integral channels formed in a bottom side of the housings that reduce greatly or eliminate rocking of the brush strips with respect to the housing to which they are removably mounted. The main housing is extruded from aluminum.

  • Publication number: 20030218083
Abstract: The subject invention provides a mounting assembly (10) for supporting a hopper (16) and a spreading mechanism (12) on a vehicle (14) for carrying and spreading a material. A spreader frame (18) supports the hopper (16) and a bumper bracket (60) is mounted to a bumper of the vehicle (14) for attaching the spreader frame (18) to a bumper. The mounting assembly (10) further includes a hitch support (70) for supporting the spreader frame (18) on a hitch receiver (72) of the vehicle (14). A plate (76) interconnects the hitch support (70) to the spreader frame (18) for adjusting a height of the hitch support (70) relative to the spreader frame (18). A pair of vertical supports (62) extend vertically from the spreader frame (18) for attachment to the bed of the vehicle (14) at an upper end (86) thereof.

  • Patent number: 6422490
Abstract: A rear mounted spreader having a horizontal auger. The spreader is ideally suited to spread bulk salt and sand, but can effectively be used to spread any spreadable material. The spreader is mounted to a vehicle and the auger is generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The spreader includes a flow plate to facilitate proper material flow. The spreader also includes a vehicle-mounted control that can independently control the auger and spinner and can control the vibrator.

  • Patent number: 5385384
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an integral child restraint seat having selected portions lined with an energy absorbing material. When a child occupant strikes and/or loads into the child seat, a portion of the total energy dissipated is absorbed by the energy absorbing material. Thus, the overall energy absorbed by the child occupant is reduced. The integral child seat also provides a unique seat latching arrangement including a pliable member that extends from the seat member and operatively engages a stationary portion of the child seat to latch the seat member in a stowed position. This pliable member also provides an integral protective cover that extends from the seat member and covers a portion of the vehicular seat, thereby preventing the vehicular seat from becoming soiled.

  • Patent number: 4235466
Abstract: A protective molding system for use with automotive vehicles is disclosed. The molding includes a rolled metallic carrier strip of a generally U-shaped configuration. A plastic member insert of a given surface configuration, texture and color is bonded or affixed within the U-shaped channel such as by snap-on, roll form or slide assembly with the carrier strip. The flat underside of the carrier is provided with an adhesive layer comprising a double-sided stick-on tape. The ends of the carrier strip are provided with retainers or fasteners for positive attachment to the vehicle body. The open ends of the carrier strip are closed with plastic, die-cast or forged plugs which include portions which extend into the plastic member insert. The plugs are staked from the underside of the carrier strip to provide a positive lock therein.
