  • Patent number: 9787420
Abstract: Example embodiments presented herein are directed towards methods for handling uplink-to-downlink interference between a first UE served by a first BS and a second UE served by a second BS, the first BS and the second BS being with full-duplex mode. According to the methods, the first BS receives from the first UE information about a first received signal quality associated with the first BS and a second received signal quality associated with the second BS. The first BS generates a full-duplex interference list associated with the second BS by putting the first UE into the full-duplex interference list if a difference between the first received signal quality and the second received signal quality is smaller than a threshold. Example embodiments are also towards methods for scheduling downlink reception and methods for scheduling uplink transmission.

  • Publication number: 20160380745
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method implemented by a full duplex wireless communication device for communications using an array of antennas and the full duplex wireless communication device. The method comprises switching an operation mode of the full duplex wireless communication device between an antenna sharing mode, in which each of the antennas is used for both transmission and reception at a same frequency band, and an antenna isolation mode, in which said each of the antennas is used for either transmission or reception at the frequency band or for both transmission and reception at non-overlapping frequency subbands. The method further comprises performing full duplex wireless communications in one of the antenna sharing mode and the antenna isolation mode.

  • Patent number: 6463296
Abstract: A method for controlling the power transmission levels in a spread spectrum or CDMA cellular system is disclosed, in which the decision to increase or decrease the transmission power level of a mobile station or base station, and the amount of any such increase or decrease made, is based on the weighted combination of a plurality of factors that indicate existing channel conditions. For example, the weight can be set according to the reliability of each channel condition factor involved.

  • Patent number: 6341124
Abstract: A plurality of base stations are operated in CDMA macrodiversity mode to communicate a message to a mobile station via an air interface. If the message is successfully communicated to one of the base stations via a packet network, the base station communicates the message to the mobile station via the air interface using CDMA. Otherwise, the base station refrains from communicating any message to the mobile station.

  • Patent number: 6154450
Abstract: A CDMA mobile telecommunications system comprises a base station (20) having a radio channel connection to a mobile station (22). The base station (20) determines a signal to interference/noise ratio (SINR) with respect to the signal received from the mobile station (22), compares the signal to interference/noise ratio (SNR) for the mobile station (22) with a target signal to interference/noise ratio (TSINR), and transmits a power level command to the mobile station (22) in accordance with the comparison. A mobile switching center (24) generates information for updating the target signal to interference/noise ratio (TSINR)and transmits the information for updating the target signal to interference/noise ratio (TSINR) to the base station (20) using in-band signaling.

  • Patent number: 6144861
Abstract: The transmit power of a base station transmission to a mobile station is advantageously controlled. The base station receives a signal from the mobile station and determines a signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) associated with the received signal. The base station controls its transmit power to the mobile station using the determined SIR value in conjunction with a transmit power control command received from the mobile station. When the mobile station is in the process of a soft handover involving two or more base stations, each of those base stations determines an SIR value associated with a signal received from the mobile station. Moreover, each of the base stations controls its respective power using both the power control command received from the mobile station and the SIR determined by that base station.

  • Patent number: 6085107
Abstract: A radio communication method and system employs power level presetting to mitigate the increase in interference caused by the discontinuous transmission of mobile stations. In the downlink, power presetting entails detecting the entry (or removal) of mobile stations to a cell, and in response thereto, calculating a plurality of power adjustment values for each mobile station within the cell. In the uplink, power presetting entails estimating an increase in interference caused by the entry (or removal) of mobile stations to a cell, and using this estimate for calculating an updated power target for each mobile station within the cell. Power presetting is also initiated in response to one or more mobile stations switching from high data-rate mode to low data-rate mode, or vice versa.
