    Abstract: A skin care composition having from about 0.01% to about 5%, by weight, of an superabsorbent polymer which is a sodium polyacrylate, sodium polacrylate starch, sodium acrylates crosspolymer-2 or mixtures of these and a portion of the polymer comprises a grafted starch material. The superabsorbent polymer is particulate where the particles have an average particle size in the range of from about 5?-30?, and the individual particles in their dry or un-swollen condition are substantially non-spherical, flat, platelet, or elongated in shape. The particles have an absorption capacity of at least about 1000 times their initial dry or un-swollen volume. Additionally, the skin care composition contains from about 0.01-10% of a dry powder that is either starch or silicone based and wherein the dry powder is coated with a silicone based material. Further there is provided a UV active.

    Abstract: A skin care composition is provided that has an oil phase mixture and a water phase. In a particular embodiment, the solid UV soluble in the isosorbide diester UV active may be selected from 4-tert-butyl-4?-methoxy dibenzoylmethane, bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine, and combinations thereof. Methods of making the aforementioned personal care compositions are disclosed.
