  • Publication number: 20240141798
Abstract: There is an axial gap between a leading edge of one of a blade outer air seal and a stator vanes and a trailing edge of the other. A feather seal is positioned to span the axial gap. The feather seal has axially spaced curved portions, with one of the curved portions in contact with a surface of the blade outer air seal and another of the curved portions being in contact with a surface of the stator vane. A pressure differential forces the feather seal into contact with the sealing surfaces and the contact being point contact due to the curved portions.

  • Publication number: 20240125272
Abstract: A component for a gas turbine engine, including: at least one internal cavity extending through the component, the internal cavity having at least one inlet opening and at least one outlet opening each being in fluid communication with the at least one internal cavity; a plurality of cooling features extending from a surface of the at least one internal cavity, the plurality of cooling features are formed in accordance with at least one of the following groups: i) a plurality of airfoil shaped features that extend upwardly from the surface of the at least one internal cavity and a plurality of wedge shaped features each having a triangular base that has an upstream portion and a downstream portion, the upstream portion extending further from the surface than the downstream portion; ii) a plurality features having a curved or ā€œJā€ shaped base that extends upwardly from the surface, a plurality features having a double curved or symmetrically ā€œJā€ shaped base that extends upwardly from the surface, and a pluralit

  • Publication number: 20240110488
Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes a turbine section that has a ceramic matrix composite body that defines a core gaspath side that a row of blades, a forward end, an aft end, and circumferential sides. The forward end abuts at least one vane of a first row of vanes, and the aft end including a seal channel. A compliant seal is disposed in the seal channel and seals against at least one vane of a second row of vanes.

  • Publication number: 20100178644
Abstract: A simulator simulates interaction between a surgical tool and biological tissue, providing real time visual and/or haptic feedback. The simulator receives tool input device information representative of a user's movement of a physical tool. The simulator simulates, based on the tool input device information, an interaction between the simulated tool and simulated biological tissue. The simulator uses multiple computational threads, some of which provide their calculations to interrelated threads for use. The simulator displays a visual representation of the simulated interaction between the simulated tool and the simulated biological tissue and provides haptic feedback to the user. The threads may operate asynchronously and have different spatial and/or temporal resolutions. Threads may be selectively activated and deactivated. Threads may move their spatial coverage.
