  • Publication number: 20070171898
Abstract: An apparatus and methods for Real Time Protocol (RTP) based bridging to create calls to and From any communication devices connected to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) or any public or private Internet Protocol network. The methods are represented in controls residing either in an RTP Bridge apparatus or as middleware on a service creation platform, softswitch, or SIP proxy services incorporating SIP bridging and SIP call relay technologies, with an interface to a TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) switch operated by a Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) or Competitive LEC (CLEC), or hosted by an Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) with connectivity to the PSTN through media gateways. The method permits a party to request an on demand conference call by either dialing into the apparatus from the PSTN or from any type of RTP communication device such as an IP phone; or using a form of signaling from RTP translation device.

  • Publication number: 20030204193
Abstract: A tool includes a housing adapted to receive an anchor with attached suture, and a suture retainer adapted to receive the attached suture. The suture retainer is configured to regulate deployment of the suture from the retainer such that deployment of the suture from the housing does not occur until a load applied to the suture corresponds to at least a selected minimum fixation strength of the anchor in bone. A method includes inserting a suture anchor at an attachment site, the suture anchor having an attached suture, and deploying the attached suture from a suture retainer when a load applied to the suture corresponds to at least a selected minimum fixation strength of the anchor in bone.

  • Patent number: 6174335
Abstract: An alignable orthopedic prosthesis system includes a prosthesis and an alignment guide. The prosthesis includes a stem having at least one slot extending along its length. The alignment guide has an alignment body with a guide surface extending from an end thereof, namely a key element formed as a blade for engaging and guiding the slot to orient the prosthesis stem. The alignment body also fits against a machined bone surface so that the blade is positioned in a plane that is oriented to guide the stem smoothly into contact with a recess formed in the bone.
