Abstract: An apparatus (10) comprises a mobile device (1) that communicates with a web server (2) over a mobile network (3). The capabilities of the mobile device (1) can be described by device attributes in a device database. An aggregation engine (5) is provided to compile an aggregated device database from a number of source device databases. Both the source device databases and the aggregated database are stored in a device attribute store (4). When a user of the mobile device (1) attempts to access a web resource hosted on the web server (2), the web server (2) looks up the values of device attributes in the aggregated device database before returning data to the mobile device (1) that is appropriate for its capabilities. The aggregated database includes information regarding the value of each device attribute and also information regarding the probability that this value is correct.

Applications comprising programs and data structures are updated to include a dummy application that can replace the ordinarily executable application and that manipulates the data structure when invoked, so as to limit it. The dummy application is subsequently reduced to have a limited amount of the original functionality and to prompt the user to delete it.

A method of providing a mobile health product includes receiving via a communications network, by a server, a request from a physician to provide the mobile health product to a patient, the request comprising a patient identifier that identifies the patient and a physician identifier that identifies the physician. Patient information based on the patient identifier, physician information based on the physician identifier, and insurance information based on the patient information and the mobile health product is retrieved by the server. In the event that the physician information indicates that the physician is authorized to prescribe the mobile health product, and the patient information and the insurance information permit payment for the mobile health product, the method includes causing the mobile health product to be delivered to the patient.
